His opponent is Christopher Kim, from Seattle, WA, playing Labrynth! Totally packed with Trap Cards, this Deck hits hard and is very resilient.

Duel 1

Kenny’s opening hand was 2 copies of Noh-P.U.N.K. Ze Amin, Gold Pride – Better Luck Next Time!, Dark Spirit’s Mastery, and Droll & Lock Bird. He started by Normal Summoning Ze Amin, paying 600 LP for its effect, but Kim had Infinite Impermanence to negate it. He played Better Luck Next Time, adding Gold Pride – Captain Carrie and losing 900 LP. He Special Summoned Captain Carrie, using its effect to add Gold Pride – Start Your Engines! to his hand. He used his monsters to Xyz Summon Gold Pride – Chariot Carrie, detaching Captain Carrie to activate its effect. He added Better Luck Next Time to his hand, then sent Gold Pride – Roller Baller to the Graveyard since his LP were lower. He Set Start Your Engines and Dark Spirit’s Mastery. Chariot Carrie returned to the Extra Deck and Special Summoned Captain Carrie from the Deck. Better Luck Next Time let him draw Kashtira Fenrir. In the End Phase, Kim Special Summoned Lady Labrynth of the Silver Castle.

Kim Set two back row cards. He Normal Summoned Arianna the Labrynth Servant, and searched for Labrynth Cooclock. He Set a third back row card, then activated the effect of Cooclock in his hand. Lady Labrynth destroyed Captain Carrie in battle, and Arianna attacked directly. Still in the Battle Phase, he flipped Big Welcome Labrynth, and Chained the effect of Lady Labrynth. He Set Terrors of the Overroot on the field, then Special Summoned Lovely Labrynth of the Silver Castle, bouncing Lady. That triggered Lovely’s effect, and Kenny flipped Start Your Engines to destroy Lovely and Special Summon Gold Pride – Leon from his Deck. Lovely’s effect resolved, destroying Leon. Kim Special Summoned Lady Labrynth in Defense Position from his hand.

Kenny drew Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. He Special Summoned Fenrir and used its effect, but Kim flipped Skill Drain! Kenny played Better Luck Next Time to add Leon to his hand, losing 1500 LP, down to just 3400 total. He Special Summoned Leon, and Kim flipped Terrors of the Overroot to replace Leon with a Ze Amin from the Graveyard. Kenny flipped Dark Spirit’s Mastery, discarding Droll & Lock Bird to add Noh-P.U.N.K. Ogre Dance to his hand. He Special Summoned Ogre Dance by Tributing Ze Amin. Ze Amin’s effect gave Ogre Dance a permanent 600 ATK boost. Finally, he Normal Summoned his second Ze Amin. Kim banished Big Welcome from his Graveyard to return Ze Amin to the hand. In the Battle Phase, Ogre Dance destroyed Lady Labrynth, and Fenrir destroyed Arianna. Kim tried using Welcome Labrynth in the End Phase, but Kenny negated it with Ash Blossom.

Kim passed with no plays. He had only one card in his hand and Skill Drain on the field.

Kenny drew Gagaku-P.U.N.K. Wa Gon and Normal Summoned it. He attacked with everything to take the first Duel!

Duel 2

Kim started the second Duel with Pot of Extravagance, banishing 6 cards from the Extra Deck to draw 2 cards. He Normal Summoned Arianna and added Big Welcome Labrynth to his hand. He activated Labrynth Stovie Torbie, discarding PSY-Frame Driver to Set Welcome Labrynth from his Deck. He Set two additional cards.

Kenny had a hand of P.U.N.K. JAM Extreme Session, Noh-P.U.N.K. Foxy Tune, Cosmic Cyclone, Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion, and Triple Tactics Thrust. He drew Captain Carrie. He started with Extreme Session, and Kim flipped Welcome Labrynth. He Special Summoned Lovely Labrynth in Attack Position. Kenny continued by discarding Foxy Tune for its effect, and Kim had Ash Blossom to negate it. That allowed Kenny to activate Triple Tactics Thrust, adding Triple Tactics Talent to his hand. He played that to take control of Lovely Labrynth. He sent it to attack Arianna, and Kim flipped Big Welcome Labrynth. Kenny Chained Cosmic Cyclone, targeting Kim’s other Set card, and Kim flipped it: Destructive Daruma Karma Cannon! Karma Cannon flipped everything face-down, then Big Welcome Special Summoned Lady Labrynth and bounced it to the hand. In a new Chain, Kim Special Summoned Stovie Torbie with its effect. Kenny had been shut down at every move, and opted to concede now, hoping to have as much time as possible for the next Duel.

Duel 3

Kenny began the final Duel with a hand of Joruri-P.U.N.K. Madame Spider, Fenrir, Start Your Engines, and a pair of Emergency Teleport. He Special Summoned Fenrir, then played Emergency Teleport to Special Summon Ze Amin. He paid 600 LP for its effect, adding Foxy Tune to his hand. Kim activated Droll & Lock Bird! Kenny tuned Ze Amin to Fenrir for Baronne de Fleur. He played the second Emergency Teleport to bring Ukiyoe-P.U.N.K. Sharakusai to the field. He used its effect, paying another 600 LP to fuse it with Madame Spider for Ukiyoe-P.U.N.K. Rising Carp. He activated Rising Carp’s effect, which Special Summoned Noh-P.U.N.K. Deer Note and Wa Gon from the Deck. He used them to Synchro Summon Adamancipator Risen – Dragite, and Deer Note’s effect brought Sharakusai back to the field. Kenny Set Start Your Engines to end his turn.

Kim started his turn with Infinite Impermanence, negating Baronne de Fleur. He played Pot of Extravagance next, banishing 6 cards from his Extra Deck, and Kenny negated it with Dragite. Kim Normal Summoned Arianna, and Kenny flipped Start Your Engines, revealing Gold Pride – Nytro Head and two copies of Roller Baller. He Special Summoned Roller Baller and destroyed Arianna. Arianna’s effect resolved, adding Lady Labrynth to his hand. Kim Set one back row card, then Special Summoned Lady Labrynth in Defense Position.

Kenny drew Spiritual Water Art – Aoi. He activated Dragite’s effect to excavate, revealing no Rock monsters. He used Baronne de Fleur to destroy a Set Big Welcome Labrynth. He then tuned Sharakusai to Roller Baller for P.U.N.K. JAM Dragon Drive, adding Ze Amin to his hand. Kim used Droll & Lock Bird, to lock Kenny down, but now Kim had only Lady Labrynth left. Kenny Normal Summoned Ze Amin and tuned it to JAM Dragon Drive for Ukiyoe-P.U.N.K. Amazing Dragon. Ze Amin pumped up Amazing Dragon’s ATK, and Amazing Dragon targeted Lady Labrynth to bounce it. Kim responded with Big Welcome’s effect in the Graveyard, but Kenny negated it with Dragite, and also Special Summoned JAM Dragon Drive from his Graveyard. He attacked directly, and Kim tried his last ditch option, to activate Lady Labrynth in his hand, but it was negated by Baronne de Fleur! Kenny’s monsters were free to attack directly and end the Match!
