Welcome to Round 5! We’re halfway into the first day of the Main Event of the Remote Duel Extravaganza, and we have a sweet Feature Match for you! Emmanuel Lilly is a New York Duelist playing Generaiders! This Deck looks to land a ton of powerful Level 9 boss monsters and shut down the opponent’s plays. It’s backed by an Invoked engine, and even includes the new Revolution Synchron! His opponent is Qiuchi Zhu, a Nebraska Duelist playing Purrely. Lilly remarked that he’d played three Purrely Duelists in a row at this point. Would that give him the edge, or will Zhu be the Purrely Duelist to finally take Lilly down?

Duel 1

Zhu won the dice roll and started with Purrely Pretty Memory, giving each player 1000 Life Points. He discarded a second Pretty Memory to Special Summon Purrelyly. He used its effect to add Stray Purrely Street to his hand, and Lilly used Droll & Lock Bird to keep Zhu from adding more cards to the hand. Zhu used Triple Tactics Talent to look at Lilly’s hand! Lilly had Generaider Boss Stage; Pot of Prosperity; Vala, Seidhr of the Generaider Bosses; and Mardel, Generaider Boss of Light. Zhu shuffled Prosperity back into the Deck. Zhu then played Street, and used Purrelyly with Pretty Memory to play Epurrely Beauty. He activated My Friend Purrely, then moved to his End Phase, using Street’s effect to attach Purrely Sleepy Memory to Beauty.

In Lilly’s Standby Phase, Beauty’s effect via Sleepy Memory let Zhu draw a card. Lilly Special Summoned Vala, discarding Mardel. He activated Vala’s effect, and Zhu negated it with Beauty. Lilly Normal Summoned Loptr, Shadow of the Generaider Bosses, Tributing it to Special Summon Hela, Generaider Boss of Doom in Defense Position. “That was the best draw,” Zhu remarked. Lilly used Hela’s effect, Tributing it to Special Summon Mardel. Mardel then added another Loptr to his hand. He stacked Vala and Mardel to Xyz Summon Phantom Fortress Enterblathnir, and used its effect to banish Beauty. Zhu’s My Friend Purrely returned Pretty and Sleepy Memories to his hand, and Street Special Summoned Purrelyly. Zhu used that effect to add Purrely to his hand. Lilly sent Enterblathnir to destroy Purrelyly in battle, then used it to play Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS – Sky Thunder in Defense Position. He activated it right away to clear away Zhu’s Spells. He played Generaider Boss Stage to finish his turn.

Zhu drew a card, triggering Boss Stage. Lilly Special Summoned Loptr in Defense Position. Boss Stage then Special Summoned 4 Generaider Tokens. Zhu Normal Summoned Purrely, activating its effect, and Lilly Chained Loptr’s effect, Tributing a token to Special Summon Harr, Generaider Boss of Storms in Defense Position. Purrely resolved, but failed to get a card. Zhu used Purrely’s effect to Xyz Summon. He combined it with Pretty Memory for another Beauty. He Set one back row card. He activated Beauty’s effect to send his Set Sleepy Memory to the Graveyard, targeting Harr. Lilly used Harr’s effect, Tributing itself and a token to negate and destroy Beauty. Zhu played My Friend Purrely, paying 500 Life Points. He revealed 3 copies of Purrely Happy Memory, putting one in his hand. He played it, discarding Sauravis, the Ancient and Ascended to Special Summon Purrelyly. With that, he added Purrelyeap!? to his hand. He used Purrelyly’s effect with Happy Memory to play Epurrely Happiness. He moved to the Battle Phase, and activated Purrely Delicious Memory. He used Happiness’s effect to attach Delicious as a material. Delicious then made one of Lilly’s tokens protected from destruction in battle this turn. Happiness attacked the token, dealing 400 damage. Happiness cut the token’s ATK in half, and added Happy Memory to his hand. He played it, attaching it to Happiness. He sent it to attack the token again, dealing 1950 damage this time. Happiness cut the token in half again, adding the third Happy Memory to Zhu’s hand. He played it and attached it to Happiness. He attacked once more, repeating the process and finally searching for another My Friend Purrely. It attacked one last time. After the token’s ATK was repeatedly halved, while Delicious Memory kept increasing Happiness’s ATK, Lilly was left with a mere 588 Life Points! In his second Main Phase, he used Happiness to play Downerd Magician, then that for Zeus. He wiped the field, leaving Zeus with 5 Xyz Materials! Zhu Set one back row card to finish the turn. He knew the only card in Lilly’s hand was Loptr.

Lilly drew a second card and immediately played it: Infinite Impermanence, negating Zeus! He played Loptr and used it to Special Summon Vala. With Vala, he Special Summoned Mardel, which then added a new Boss Stage to his hand. He used his Generaiders to play Laevatein, Generaider Boss of Shadows, and used its effect to tag in Jormungandr, Generaider Boss of Eternity, attaching Zhu’s Zeus and Purrelyeap!? to Jormangandr as Xyz Materials! He activated Boss Stage, then activated Jormangandr. Both players drew a card, with Jormangandr attaching Lilly’s Magical Meltdown and Zhu’s Book of Moon. Boss Stage triggered to Special Summon Utgarda, Generaider Boss of Delusion in Defense Position. Jormangandr attacked directly.

Zhu drew his card, and Boss Stage let Lilly Special Summon Vala. That triggered Zhu’s Ghost Mourner & Moonlit Chill from Zhu, but it didn’t matter. With Lilly’s field of Generaider Bosses and an ever-growing Jormangandr, this Duel was over!

Duel 2

Zhu chose to play second. Lilly began with three back row cards.

Zhu started with Sleepy Memory in his Draw Phase, discarding Purrelyly to Special Summon Purrely. Its effect added My Friend Purrely to his hand. He played Happy Memory, discarding another Purrelyly to Special Summon his third Purrelyly. It added Purrely to his hand. He moved to the Main Phase, using Purrelyly’s effect with Sleepy Memory, and Lilly flipped Infinite Impermanence. He then used Purrely with the Happy Memory in his hand, for Epurrely Happiness. It attacked directly, and its effect added Pretty Memory to Zhu’s hand. He used Pretty Memory to give each player 1000 Life Points, trying to attach it to Happiness. Lilly flipped Cosmic Cyclone to banish the Pretty Memory before it could be attached. In Main Phase 2, Zhu Normal Summoned Purrely, adding Purrelyeap!? to his hand. Lilly laughed and activated Droll & Lock Bird, far too late to have much impact. Zhu used Purrely and Purrelyly to play Sky Striker Ace – Azalea. He used its effect to destroy Lilly’s last Set card, and Lilly conceded! Lilly had no gas on the first turn, and Zhu promptly picked apart his entire field!

Duel 3

Lilly played first, and started with Tuning! He added Revolution Synchron to his hand, and sent an Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring from the top of his Deck. He played Magical Meltdown to add Aleister the Invoker to his hand. He Normal Summoned Aleister to get Invocation. He used Aleister and Revolution Synchron to play Ancient Fairy Dragon in Defense Position, and Zhu had Ghost Mourner to negate it! Lilly Special Summoned Revolution Synchron from his Graveyard as a Level 1, and tuned it to Ancient Fairy Dragon for Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon! He took 2100 damage due to Ghost Mourner. He played Invocation, fusing Aleister and Ancient Fairy Dragon into Invoked Mechaba! He then used Invocation’s effect, returning it to the Deck to get Aleister back to his hand. He Set two back row cards.

Zhu moved to his Draw Phase, and Lilly flipped Anti-Spell Fragrance. Zhu Chained Purrely Delicious Memory. He chose Mechaba to not be destroyed in battle this turn, then discarded Stray Purrely Street to Special Summon Purrely. Zhu Normal Summoned a second Purrely, and Xyz Summoned Slacker Magician. He sent it to attack Mechaba, hoping to go for Zeus in Main Phase 2, but Lilly flipped Dimensional Barrier for Xyz Monsters! Slacker was destroyed in battle, and Zhu had nothing left!
