Dakota Angeloff from Tuscaloosa, Alabama is Dueling against Roberto Gomez from Monterey, California in this Round 6 Feature Match! Angeloff is a former Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME World Championship competitor, and took fourth place at the most recent World Championship in 2019. Now, he’s using a Tearlaments Deck and hoping that it’ll bring him back to compete in Tokyo, Japan. Roberto Gomez is using a Labrynth Deck, packed with Trap Cards that he is hoping will slow Angeloff down. It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

Roberto Gomez started off Duel 1 by Setting 3 cards to his back row and passing his turn.

Angeloff opened up Duel 1 with Dark Ruler No More, Tearlaments Merrli, Tearlaments Kashtira, Kashtira Fenrir, and Tearlaments Sulliek. He drew Foolish Burial Goods and then Special Summoned Kashtira Fenrir. Gomez flipped Destructive Daruma Karma Cannon to put it face-down and then Angeloff used Foolish Burial Goods to send Trivikarma from his Deck to his hand. He banished it from his Graveyard to add Primeval Planet Perlereino to his hand and Gomez activated the effect of Droll & Lock Bird from his hand. Angeloff Normal Summoned Tearlaments Merrli next and activated its effect; but Gomez flipped Skill Drain and gave up 1000 Life Points to negate it! Angeloff attacked directly with Merrli and then Set Sulliek in Main Phase 2.

Gomez Set another card to his back row and passed.

Angeloff drew Tearlaments Scream and then activated Perlereino. He used its effect to add Tearlaments Scheiren to his hand and activated Scream. Next, he activated Scheiren’s effect to Special Summon it and send Tearlaments Kashtira from his hand to his Graveyard. He sent Kelbek the Ancient Vanguard, Polymerization, and Sulliek to the Graveyard with Scheiren’s effect and then used the effects of Kelbek, Sulliek, Scream, and Tearlaments Kashtira. He added Tearlaments Kashtira from his Deck to his hand with Sulliek and sent the top 10 cards of his own Deck to the Graveyard, and 5 cards from the top of Gomez’s Deck to the Graveyard. Angeloff used the effects of a Tearlaments Havnis and a Helshaddoll Hollow that he sent to the Graveyard, and Gomez Chained Dimension Barrier declaring Fusions. Angeloff sent 1 cards from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard and was unable to resolve Havnis’s effect. Angeloff Flip Summoned Fenrir and then Special Summoned Tearlaments Kashtira from his hand. Direct attacks from all of Angeloff’s monsters wiped out Gomez’s remaining Life Points!

Duel Two

Gomez activated the effect of the Labrynth Cooclock in his hand during the Draw Phase by sending it to the Graveyard, allowing him to activate a Trap Card that he Sets during that turn. He Set 2 cards to his back row and then Special Summoned Lady Labrynth of the Silver Castle from his hand. Next, he flipped up Big Welcome Labrynth. He Chained the effect of his Lady Labrynth. He Set Dimension Barrier from his Deck to his field and then Special Summoned Lovely Labrynth of the Silver Castle. He returned Lady Labrynth to the hand and used Lovely Labrynth’s effect to destroy a Polymerization in Angeloff’s hand. Next, he used Lady Labrynth’s effect to Set Big Welcome Labrynth from his Graveyard to his field.

Angeloff drew Book of Moon and added it to his hand of Tearlaments Heartbeat, Terraforming, Tearlaments Reinoheart, and another Book of Moon. Gomez flipped Big Welcome Labrynth in the Draw Phase. Angeloff Chained Book of Moon to put Lovely Labrynth face-down and Gomez Special Summoned Arianna the Labrynth Servant from his Deck and returned his face-down Lovely Labrynth to his hand. He used Arianna’s effect to add Labrynth Chandraglier to his hand. He Special Summoned Lady Labrynth from his hand and then allowed Angeloff to enter his Main Phase. Angeloff added Pressured Planet Wraitsoth to his hand with Terraforming, prompting Gomez to activate the effect of Chandraglier from his hand. He sent it to the Graveyard along with a Lovely Labrynth from his hand, and Angeloff Chained Tearlaments Heartbeat from his hand to return one of Gomez’s face-down back row cards to his Deck and discard Reinoheart from his hand. Gomez Set Welcome Labrynth from his Deck to his field when Chandraglier’s effect resolved. He then used Cooclock’s effect in the Graveyard to return it to his hand. Next, Gomez flipped Dimension Barrier declaring Fusions, and Angeloff Chained Book of Moon to put Arianna face-down. Finally, Angeloff activated his last card – Pressured Planet Wraitsoth! He added Kashtira Fenrir to his hand, and Gomez used the effect of the Cooclock in his hand to allow him to activate his face-down Welcome Labrynth. He flipped it and Chained Lady Labrynth’s effect. He Set Welcome Labrynth from his Deck and then Special Summoned Lady Labrynth. Angeloff Special Summoned Fenrir next and used its effect to add Tearlaments Kashtira to his hand. He attacked and Arianna and then ended his turn.

Gomez switched his Defense Position Lady Labrynth into Attack Position and then attacked Fenrir to destroy it. The second Lady Labrynth attacked directly next, dropping Angeloff down to 4600 Life Points. Still in the Battle Phase, Gomez flipped Welcome Labrynth to Special Summon Arianna from his Deck. He used its effect to add Labrynth Stovie Torbie to his hand and then used Stovie Torbie’s effect. He sent it to the Graveyard along with an Infinite Impermanence from his hand to Set Big Welcome Labrynth and returned a Cooclock from his Graveyard to his hand. He used its effect and then flipped Big Welcome Labrynth. He used Lady Labrynth’s effect to Set Infinite Impermanence from his Deck and Special Summoned Lovely Labrynth with Big Welcome, returning a Lady Labrynth to his hand. Direct attacks from Arianna and Lovely Labrynth dropped Angeloff down to 100 Life Points. He used Lovely Labrynth’s effect to try to Set Dimension Barrier from his Graveyard, and Angeloff Chained Tearlaments Kashtira’s effect, banishing Fenrir from his Graveyard. Angeloff sent 2 Sullieks and a King of the Swamp to the Graveyard and used a Sulliek’s effect to add another Tearlaments Kashtira to his hand.

Angeloff drew Foolish Burial and Gomez banished Big Welcome Labrynth from the Graveyard in his Draw Phase to return Tearlaments Kashtira to Angeloff’s hand. Angeloff conceded, unable to retaliate against Gomez’s Labrynth monsters and Trap Cards.

Duel Three

Angeloff opened up Duel 3 with Called by the Grave, Foolish Burial, Foolish Burial Goods, Tearlaments Scheiren, and Agido the Ancient Sentinel.

He activated Foolish Burial Goods to send Trivikarma to his Graveyard and then banished Trivikarma from his Graveyard to add Primeval Planet Perlereino to his hand. He activated it and used its effect to add Tearlaments Kashtira to his hand. Next, he activated Foolish Burial to send Kelbek from his Deck to his Graveyard. He used Kelbek’s effect to send the top 5 cards of each Deck to the Graveyard. Among Angeloff’s 5 cards, he sent Merrli and King of the Swamp to the Graveyard, and used Merrli’s effect to fuse them together and Special Summon Tearlaments Rulkallos from his Extra Deck. Next, he activated the effect of the Scheiren in his hand to Special Summon it by discarding Agido. He sent 3 cards including Havnis and Agido to the Graveyard, and activated their effects. Gomez tried to Chain the effect of a Magnamhut in his hand, and Angeloff Chained his Rulkallos’s effect to negate the activation of its effect and destroy it before sending Rulkallos to the Graveyard. Angeloff sent 5 more cards from the top of each Deck to the Graveyard and then resolved Havnis’s effect to fuse it with another King of the Swamp and Special Summon Grapha, Dragon Overlord of Dark World from his Extra Deck. Next, Angeloff activated the effects of his Rulkallos, Reinoheart, and Tearlaments Kashtira in the Graveyard. He Chained the effect of a Tearlaments Kashtira in his hand as Chain Link 4 to Special Summon it and send 3 more cards from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard. He Special Summoned Reinoheart and Rulkallos and then combined Scheiren and Reinoheart to Xyz Summon Time Thief Redoer. When he attempted to leave his Main Phase, Gomez activated the effect of a Stovie Torbie in his hand by sending it to the Graveyard along with a Big Welcome Labrynth in his hand. He Set Big Welcome Labrynth from his Deck and then tried to use Cooclock’s effect in his Graveyard. Angeloff Chained the effect of Mudora the Sword Oracle in his Graveyard to return the Cooclock, a Big Welcome Labrynth, and Angeloff’s own Tearlaments Kashtira from the Graveyard to the Deck. He then used Perlereino’s effect to destroy Big Welcome Labrynth. Finally, Gomez activated the effect of Nibiru, the Primal Being; but Angeloff had 1 card left in his hand and Chained his Grapha’s effect! He Chained Called by the Grave from his hand to banish Chandelier from Gomez’s Graveyard, and Nibiru’s effect was changed to discard a card from Angeloff’s hand. Since Angeloff had no cards left in his hand, he didn’t have to discard any, and Nibiru just stayed in Gomez’s hand!

Gomez drew to a third card in his hand and then Angeloff used Redoer’s effect to take an Infinite Impermanence from the top of Gomez’s Deck and attach it to his Redoer as an Xyz Material. Gomez then Special Summoned Magnamhut from his hand by banishing a Magnamhut in his Graveyard and activated the Magnamhut’s effect. Magnamhut attacked Time Thief Redoer, but Angeloff used Redoer’s effect. He detached Infinite Impermanence from his Redoer to return Magnamhut to the top of Gomez’s Deck and Gomez conceded!
