Duel One

Perez Special Summoned Kashtira Fenrir from his hand to start off his first turn and used Fenrir’s effect to add Kashtira Unicorn to his hand. He Set 2 cards to his back row and then passed.

Sorrentino activated the effect of Albion the Shrouded Dragon from his hand. He sent Fallen of Albaz from his Deck to his Graveyard, returned Albion to the bottom of his Deck, and drew a card. Next, he activated Fusion Deployment. He revealed Granguignol the Dusk Dragon from his Extra Deck to Special Summon Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous from his Deck. He Normal Summoned Aluber the Jester of Despia next, and used its effect to add Branded Fusion to his hand. He activated Branded Fusion and Perez Chained Book of Moon targeting Blazing Cartesia. Sorrentino Chained the effect of his Blazing Cartesia to fuse it with Aluber and Summon Granguignol the Dusk Dragon from his Extra Deck. He resolved Branded Fusion and chose to send Fallen of Albaz and The Bystial Lubellion from his Deck to his Graveyard to Fusion Summon Albion the Branded Dragon. He activated the effect of Granguignol in Chain Link 1 and Albion the Branded Dragon in Chain Link 2. Perez activated his Fenrir’s effect as Chain Link 3, targeting Granguignol. Perez then flipped Infinite Impermanence as Chain Link 4, targeting Albion to negate its effect; but Sorrentino flipped Book of Eclipse as Chain Link 5 to put all face-up monsters on the field face-down! Fenrir’s effect banished the targeted Granguignol face-down, and Sorrentino resolved his Albion the Branded Dragon’s effect to Fusion Summon Lubellion the Searing Dragon by banishing Fallen of Albaz and an Aluber. Next, Granguignol’s effect resolved to send Gimmick Puppet Nightmare from Sorrentino’s Deck to his Graveyard. Sorrentino used his Lubellion the Searing Dragon’s effect by discarding Despian Tragedy and Fusion Summoned Mirrorjade the Iceblade Dragon. He Tributed Albion the Branded Dragon to Special Summon The Bystial Lubellion from his Graveyard and then Perez activated the effect of Nibiru, the Primal Being! Sorrentino Chained the effect of Mirrorjade by sending Titaniklad the Ash Dragon from his Extra Deck to his Graveyard to banish a monster. Nibiru wiped out all of the monsters on the field! Perez Special Summoned the Nibiru in Defense Position, and gave Sorrentino a Primal Being Token with 5500 ATK in Attack Position. Next, Sorrentino activated the effect of Mirrorjade in the Graveyard and then Special Summoned Blazing Cartesia. He attacked the Defense Position Nibiru with Blazing Cartesia to destroy it and then attacked directly with his Token to inflict 5500 points of damage. In the End Phase, he activated the effects of the Cartesia, Albion, and Titaniklad in his Graveyard, resolving all of their effects. He activated Branded in Red to Fusion Summon Albion the Sanctifire Dragon next and Special Summoned Mirrorjade.

Herrera drew a card and then Sorrentino used his Albion the Sanctifire Dragon’s effect in the Draw Phase to target an Albion and Gimmick Puppet Nightmare in his Graveyard. With Gimmick Puppet Nightmare about to be Summoned to Perez’s field so that he can’t Special Summon for the rest of the turn, Perez conceded.

Pierluigi Sorrentino quickly wins the first Duel with his Branded Despia Deck!

Duel Two

Perez started off Duel 2 by Special Summoning Kashtira Fenrir from his hand in Defense Position and activated its effect to add Kashtira Unicorn to his hand. He Special Summoned Riseheart from his hand next and activated its effect by banishing Kashtira Birth from his Deck. He banished the top 3 cards of Sorrentino’s Deck face-down and increased his Riseheart’s Level to 7. Next, he combined Fenrir with Riseheart to Xyz Summon Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon and Set a card to his back row.

Sorrentino started off his turn by activating Fusion Deployment. He revealed Mirrorjade from his Extra Deck to Special Summon Fallen of Albaz from his Deck and lost 500 Life Points due to the Flare metal Dragon’s effect. He activated his Fallen of Albaz’s effect by discarding Branded Lost and Herrera Chained Eradicator Epidemic Virus, Tributing his Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon and declaring Spells! Sorrentino Chained the effect of Branded Opening from his hand and discarded Book of Eclipse to Special Summon Aluber from his Deck. He revealed Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous and Guiding Quem, the Virtuous from his hand when the Eradicator Epidemic Virus resolved, and then Aluber’s effect resolved to add Branded in Red from Sorrentino’s Deck to his hand. He Special Summoned Blazing Cartesia from his hand with its effect and then used Cartesia’s on-field effect to fuse it with the Aluber on his field and Summon Granguignol the Dusk Dragon. He activated its effect, but lost out to Perez’s Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. He attacked directly with Granguignol and Fallen of Albaz, then activated Branded in Red while still in his Battle Phase. He returned Aluber to his hand and used it to Fusion Summon Lubellion the Searing Dragon. He used Lubellion’s effect to Fusion Summon Albion the Branded Dragon and used Albion’s effect to banish two monsters from his Graveyard and Fusion Summon Masquerade the Blazing Dragon. Direct attacks from Albion and Masquerade wiped out the remainder of Perez’s Life Points!
