We’re almost there! We’re in round 7 of the main event, and everyone’s hoping to make Day 2 here at TEAM YCS Las Vegas. The Snake-Eyes Fire King deck is everywhere, and both Robert McCallum from Team Robert Gaming and Preston Allen III from Team One have piloted their respective decks well throughout the day, securing 5-1 records. However, only one of these teams will be adding to their win total this Round. Let’s find out who that is!!

Allen started by activating WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils in the Draw Phase, searching for a copy of Diabellstar the Black Witch. Allen then Summoned the Diabellstar the Black Witch by discarding another Diabellstar, and used its effect to set Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye from the Deck. He activated the Original, sending Diabellstar to the Graveyard to Special Summon Snake-Eye Ash from the Deck, and activated its effect on Summon to search for Snake-Eyes Poplar. He activated the Poplar’s effect to Special Summon itself and searched for Divine Temple of the Snake-Eye. He followed up with the Graveyard effect of WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils, banishing it to put Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye to the bottom of the Deck and draw a card.
Next, Allen Link Summoned Linkuriboh using Poplar as a Link Material and placed Poplar to his Spell/Trap Zone. He activated Divine Temple of the Snake-Eye, placing Snake-Eye Oak in the Spell/Trap Zone. He then activated the effect of Snake-Eye Ash, sending Ash and Poplar to the Graveyard to Special Summon Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon from the Deck. Allen activated the effect of his Fire King High Avatar Kirin in hand, destroying Sacred Fire King Garunix to Special Summon it, and played Circle of the Fire Kings; he destroyed the Kirin on the field and Special Summoned Poplar from the Graveyard. That let him activate the effect of Sacred Fire King Garunix in the Graveyard, Special Summoning it and activating its effect to destroy Fire King Avatar Arvata from the Deck. Arvata’s effect let him Special Summon Kirin from the Graveyard.
Allen used Poplar and Garunix to Link Summon I:P Masquerena, then Linked Masquerena and Linkuriboh to make Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames. Allen activated the effect of Princess to Special Summon Poplar from the Graveyard, used Flamberge Dragon to place I:P Masquerena in the Spell/Trap Zone, and then used Princess and Poplar to Link Summon Amphibious Swarmship Amblowhale. He Set one card. Finally, during the End Phase, Arvata’s effect destroyed Fire King High Avatar Kirin, and then Allen used Kirin’s effect to Special Summon Arvata, ending his turn.

McCallum’s hand consisted of two copies of Diabellstar the Black Witch, a WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils, Triple Tactics Talent, and Fire King High Avatar Kirin. He drew a copy of Nibiru the Primal Being for turn. He started by Special Summoning Diabellstar, sent the other copy from his hand to the Graveyard, and activated Diabellstar’s effect to Set Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye from the Deck. Before he could activate it though, Allen activated his set card – Cosmic Cyclone! McCallum chained WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils to add the Diabellstar back from his Graveyard to his hand, and then banished the WANTED in his Graveyard to place Original Sinful Spoils back on the bottom of his Deck and draw a card: Bonfire.
McCallum activated the Bonfire, searched for Snake-Eye Ash and Normal Summoned it. He tried to activate its effect, but Allen chose to respond with Fire King Avatar Arvata’s ability destroying Amblowhale. Allen activated the effect of Garunix in his Graveyard on resolution, as well as the effect of the destroyed Amblowhale, and Summoned out both Linkuriboh and Garunix!
He activated the effect of Garunix to destroy a Legendary Fire King Ponix from his Deck. Allen also used his Flamberge Dragon to Special Summon the I:P Masquerena that he’d placed in his Spell/Trap Zone, and then activated Masquerena’s effect, using Masquerena and Flamberge Dragon to make S:P Little Knight! Allen used Little Knight to banish McCallum’s Snake-Eye Ash, and also used Flamberge Dragon to Special Summon Snake-Eyes Poplar and Ash, choosing to activate both effects. He added Original Sinful Spoils and another Ash to his hand.
Despite it being his own turn, McCallum activated Nibiru the Primal Being! Allen responded with S:P Little Knight’s effect, banishing S:P and Fire King Avatar Arvata, but the remaining monsters on the field were Tributed and Allen got a Primal Being Token with 7000 Attack Points. The Summon of Nibiru let McCallum use the effect of his Divine Temple of the Snake-Eye to Special Summon Snake-Eye Oak, and he used Oak’s effect to Special Summon back Poplar. McCallum then activated Triple Tactics Talent and took control of Allen’s Oak, using its effect to send Oak and Nibiru to the Graveyard to Special Summon Poplar from his Deck. Poplar to got him Original Sinful Spoils.
McCallum used Poplar to Link Summon Linkuriboh, then placed Poplar to the Spell/Trap Zone. Next, he activated Original Sinful Spoils, sending the placed Poplar to the Graveyard to Special Summon his own Snake-Eye Oak from the Deck. He activated its effect to Special Summon back Poplar. He used Poplar and Oak to make I:P Masquerena, and he Linked it to Linkuriboh to Link Summon Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames.
The Princess let him Special Summon Oak, and then he Linked Princess and Oak to make Salamangreat Raging Phoenix. Finally, McCallum used Raging Phoenix to Link Summon Worldsea Dragon Zealantis, which banished and then Special Summoned Zealantis and Poplar; the Primal Being Token remained removed from the Field. Zealantis attacked over Allen’s Poplar which Allen then placed in the Spell/Trap Zone. S:P Little Knight and Fire King Avatar Arvata were returned to Allen’s field in the End Phase.
Staring down several monsters and unable to establish a presence on the field, McCallum conceded the first Duel!

McCallum chose to go first in the second Duel, with an opening hand consisting of Droll & Lock Bird, Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye, Fire King High Avatar Kirin, Diabellstar the Black Witch, and Fire King Avatar Arvata. He started by Normal Summoning Arvata. Then he Special Summoned Diabellstar by discarding the Droll & Lock Bird from his hand. He attempted to use its effect, but Allen responded with Infinite Impermanence! Luckily, McCallum already had Original Sinful Spoils in his hand, and activated it, sending Diabellstar to the Grveyard to Special Summon Snake-Eye Ash from his Deck.
He activated Ash’s effect, and Allen responded with Infinite Impermanence, but McCallum activated the effect of Fire King High Avatar Kirin in his hand! He destroyed the Ash and Special Summoned the Kirin, causing Infinite Impermanence to resolve without effect; Snake-Eye Ash was able to search for Snake-Eyes Poplar.
Allen used Poplar’s effect to search for Divine Temple of the Snake-Eye, and activated the Temple to place Snake-Eye Oak in his Spell/Trap Zone. He used Arvata and Kirin to Link Summon Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf, and then used Poplar to Link Summon Linkuriboh directly underneath Sunlight Wolf, letting him add Fire King High Avatar Kirin back to his hand! He performed one last Link Summon, using Sunlight Wolf and Linkuriboh to make Decode Talker Heatsoul, and then used Heatsoul’s effect, paying 1000 Life Points to draw Legendary Fire King Ponix and end his turn.
During Allen’s Draw Phase, McCallum activated the effect of Heatsoul again, drawing a Diabellstar the Black Witch. Allen started off his turn by activating Bonfire and searching for Snake-Eyes Poplar. He activated the Poplar’s effect, Special Summoning it and searching for Original Sinful Spoils. He used Poplar to Link Summon Relinquished Anima, directly in front of McCallum’s Heatsoul, while placing Poplar in his Spell/Trap Zone. Allen activated Anima’s effect attempting to equip it with Heatsoul, but McCallum activated the Fire King High Avatar Kirin in his hand, destroying Heatsoul and Special Summoning Kirin. Allen then activated Triple Tactics Talent and chose to look at McCallum’s hand, sending Legendary Fire King Ponix back into McCallum’s Deck.
Allen Normal Summoned his own Ponix to search for Fire King Island. He activated the Island and used its effect, destroying Ponix and searching for Garunix. He Special Summoned the Garunix and destroyed Fire King High Avatar Kirin from the Deck, but McCallum also chose to activate the effect of his Divine Temple of the Snake-Eye, Special Summoning Snake-Eye Oak from his Spell/Trap Zone while Allen destroyed a copy of Fire King High Avatar Kirin. McCallum’s Oak revived Snake-Eye Ash as Chain Link 2, but Allen’s Kirin was Chain Link 1, destroying the freshly Summoned Ash before McCallum could activate its effect!
Allen then activated Original Sinful Spoils sending Poplar to the Graveyard to Special Summon Snake-Eye Oak. Ponix and Anima were used as material to Link Summon Hiita the Fire Charmer, Ablaze, and Hiita Special Summoned McCallum’s Heatsoul! Allen used Hiita and Kirin to Link Summon Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames, activated Princess’ effect to Special Summon Snake-Eye Oak, and then used Oak to Special Summon Poplar.
He Linked the Princess and Poplar were to make Salamangreat Raging Phoenix, then used Raging Phoenix to make Worldsea Dragon Zealantis. In the Battle Phase, Allen activated the effect of Zealantis to destroy McCallum’s Avatar Kirin and Snake-Eye Oak. McCallum attempted to activate Kirin’s effect to Summon a final monster to the field, but Allen responded with Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion from his hand, negating Kirin’s effect, and allowing his monsters to attack and win the Duel!

Having finished a bit earlier than their teammates, McCallum and Allen each seized the opportunity to provide support to their team members for the remaining time. McCallum provided key advice to his team member, and both of his teammates were able to win their respective games. Despite McCallum losing the game against Allen, it’s McCallum and Team Robert Gaming that will be moving onto Round 8 with a 6-1 record!
