Third Place Feature Match: Simon He vs. Cameron Neal

Simon He from London, England and Cameron Neal from Dallas, Texas have both won a YCS tournament in the past, and they were both hoping to win their second YCS tournament this weekend. Unfortunately for both of them, they lost in the Top 4; but they still have 1 more Match to play this weekend. They’re about to use their Snake-Eye Decks to face off in a Match that will determine who takes third place. The winner of this Match will earn a Super Rare YCS Prize Card of Anotherverse Gluttonia, so even though the trophy is out of reach for both Duelists, they’ll be giving this Match their all. It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

Neal activated One for One by sending Ghost Mourner & Moonlit Chill to his Graveyard but lost out to Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. He passed his turn with no other play.

Cameron Neal

Simon He drew a Ghost Mourner and added it to his hand of Snake-Eyes Diabellstar, Bonfire, Triple Tactics Talent, and a second Ghost Mourner. He activated Bonfire and used its effect to add Snake-Eye Ash to his hand. He Normal Summoned it and activated its effect; but Neal Chained Effect Veiler to negate Ash’s effect! He activated Triple Tactics Talent next, opting to draw 2 cards from his Deck. He drew Infinite Impermanence and Effect Veiler. He attacked directly with Ash and then Set Infinite Impermanence to his back row.

Neal drew a card and then activated WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils in his Draw Phase. He added Diabellstar the Black Witch from his Deck to his hand with its effect. In his Main Phase, he sent a Ghost Mourner from his hand to his Graveyard to Special Summon Diabellstar the Dark Witch and activated its effect; but He activated the effect of his Ghost Mourner to negate its effect! Diabellstar attacked and destroyed Ash, and Neal ended his turn.

He drew Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring and then ended his turn.

Neal drew a card and then attacked directly with Diabellstar the Black Witch to drop He down to 3800 Life Points.

He drew WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils in his Draw Phase and activated it to add Diabellstar the Black Witch from his Deck to his hand! In his Main Phase, he sent Snake-Eyes Diabellstar from his hand to his Graveyard to Special Summon Diabellstar the Black Witch to his field. He activated its effect, but lost out to Neal’s Effect Veiler. Next, he Normal Summoned Effect Veiler. He sent Veiler to his Graveyard to Link Summon Relinquished Anima and then sent Anima and Diabellstar to his Graveyard to Link Summon S:P Little Knight. He used Little Knight’s effect to banish Neal’s Diabellstar and then ended his turn.

Neal drew a card and passed.

He drew a Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon and then Normal Summoned Ghost Mourner. He sent Ghost Mourner and Little Knight to the Graveyard to Link Summon Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames and used the Princess’s effect to Special Summon Snake-Eye Ash from his Graveyard. He used Ash’s effect to add Snake-Eyes Poplar to his hand and then used Poplar’s effect to Special Summon it. He activated its effect on the field to add Divine Temple of the Snake-Eye from his Deck to his hand and activated it. He used its effect to place Snake-Eyes Diabellstar in his Spell & Trap Card Zone. He used the effect of Ash to send the Ash and Snake-Eyes Diabellstar from his field to his Graveyard and Special Summon Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon from his Deck. He attempted to enter his Battle Phase, but Neal activated the effect of Nibiru, the Primal Being while He was still in his Main Phase! Neal sent all monsters on the field to the Graveyard, Special Summoned Nibiru, and gave He a Primal Being Token. He used the effects of Poplar and Flamberge Dragon. He put Diabellstar in his back row with Poplar’s effect and Special Summoned Ash and Poplar with the effect of Flamberge Dragon. Next, he used the Primal Being Token and Ash as Link Materials to Link Summon Hiita and used Hiita and Poplar as Link Materials to Link Summon Selene, Queen of the Master Magicians. He used Selene’s effect to Special Summon Diabellstar the Black Witch back from the Graveyard, and Neal finally conceded.

After a slow start from both Duelists, Simon He finally manages to get his Deck up and running and take the victory! Neal chose to go first in the second Duel!

Duel Two

Neal started off Duel 2 by Normal Summoning Snake-Eye Ash and activating its effect; but He Chained Infinite Impermanence from his hand to negate it. Next, Neal Special Summoned Diabellstar the Black Witch from his hand by sending Poplar from his hand to his Graveyard. Neal activated its effect, and He tried to negate it with Ghost Mourner; but Neal activated Crossout Designator and banished Ghost Mourner from his Deck to negate the Ghost Mourner. Neal Set Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye from his Deck to his field with Diabellstar’s effect and put Poplar into his back row with Poplar’s effect. He flipped Original Sinful Spoils and sent Poplar to the Graveyard to Special Summon Oak from his Deck, then used Oak’s effect to Special Summon Poplar. He used Poplar’s effect to add Divine Temple of the Snake-Eye from his Deck to his hand and then activated it. He used its effect to put Snake-Eyes Diabellstar from his Deck into his Spell & Trap Card Zone. He used Oak’s effect to send Oak and Ash to his Graveyard and Special Summon Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon from his Deck in Defense Position. Next, he sent Flamberge Dragon and Black Witch to the Graveyard to Link Summon I:P Masquerena. He used Flamberge Dragon’s effect to Special Summon Oak and Ash from his Graveyard and then used Masquerena and Oak as Link Materials to Summon Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames. He used the Princess’s effect to Special Summon Flamberge Dragon from his Graveyard and then used the Flamberge Dragon’s effect to move I:P Masquerena from his Graveyard into his Spell & Trap Card Zone. Next, he used the effect of his Snake-Eyes Diabellstar targeting Oak in his Graveyard. He Special Summoned the Diabellstar and moved Oak into his Spell & Trap Card Zone. He used Ash’s effect to send Ash and Oak to his Graveyard and Special Summon Flamberge Dragon from his Deck. He sent Poplar and Promethean Princess to the Graveyard to Link Summon Salamangreat Raging Phoenix and then combined Snake-Eyes Diabellstar with a Flamberge Dragon to Summon Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy. He Set a card to his back row and passed.

He drew Diabellstar the Black Witch for his turn and added it to his hand of with Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon, Change of Heart, and WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils.

Simon He

He activated WANTED in his Main Phase and added Snake-Eyes Diabellstar from his Deck to his hand. Next, he sent Snake-Eyes Diabellstar to his Graveyard to Special Summon Diabellstar the Black Witch and activated its effect. Cameron used the effect of the Divine Temple to Special Summon I:P Masquerena and the Black Witch’s effect resolved to Set Original Sinful Spoils from He’s Deck. He activated Change of Heart targeting Number 38 and Neal used his Number 38’s effect to negate it and attach the Change of Heart as an Xyz Material. Next, Neal used his I:P Masquerena’s effect to use Masquerena and Flamberge Dragon as Link Materials. He Summoned S:P Little Knight and used Little Knight’s effect to banish Diabellstar from He’s field. With just a Flamberge Dragon in his hand and an Original Sinful Spoils in his back row, He conceded.

A strong start for Cameron Neal allows him to take a quick win in the second Duel of the Match! The Match is going to a third and final Duel!

Duel Three

He opened up Duel 3 with Ghost Mourner & Moonlit Chill, Snake-Eye Ash, Triple Tactics Talent, Skill Drain, and Metaltronus. He Normal Summoned Ash and activated its effect; but Neal used Infinite Impermanence to negate it! He Set Skill Drain and Metaltronus to his back row and passed.

Neal Set a card to his back row and passed.

He drew WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils! He activated it in the Draw Phase but lost out to Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. He Normal Summoned Ghost Mourner and then used Ghost Mourner and Ash to Link Summon Hiita the Fire Charmer, Ablaze. Neal activated the effect of Ghost Mourner & Moonlit Chill to negate its effects and He activated Triple Tactics Talent to draw 2 cards. He picked up Bonfire and Ash Blossom from his Deck, and then activated the Bonfire. He added Snake-Eyes Poplar from his Deck to his hand and Special Summoned it with its effect. Neal instantly conceded, disappointed in his opening hand.

Simon He wins the Match and takes third place at YCS Indianapolis! He’ll be taking home a Super Rare Anotherverse Gluttonia YCS Prize Card!
