Welcome to Round 2 of the November 2024 Remote Duel YCS! To start things off, we have John Wilkin, from Toronto, Ontario, facing George Sacco from Oklahoma City, each playing Fire King Snake-Eye Decks, featuring the new Azamina cards from Rage of the Abyss. These two are both former Dragon Duelists with impressive results from that time, and have been very successful with multiple Top Cut finishes in their adult Dueling careers.

Duel 1

Wilkin won the die roll and played first. He started with Bonfire, adding Snake-Eye Ash to his hand. He Normal Summoned Ash and added Snake-Eyes Poplar to his hand. He Special Summoned Poplar and added Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye to his hand. He used Ash’s effect, sending itself and Poplar to the Graveyard to Special Summon Snake-Eye Oak. Poplar put itself in the back row, and Oak revived Ash. Oak’s effect then sent itself and Poplar to the Graveyard to Special Summon Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon. Flamberge put Poplar in the back row, and he used Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye, sending Poplar to the Graveyard. Sacco had Dominus Impulse to negate Wilkin’s spell! Wilkin used Ash and Flamberge to Link Summon I:P Masquerena, and Flamberge revived Oak and Ash. He Xyz Summoned Kikinagashi Fucho.

Sacco started with a Bonfire of his own, adding Snake-Eye Oak to his hand. He played Fire King Island and used its effect, and Wilkin Chained I:P Masquerena’s effect. He used it and Kikinagashi Fucho to Link Summon S:P Little Knight. Island resolved, destroying Flamberge from Sacco’s hand to add Sacred Fire King Garunix to his hand. Little Knight banished Island, and Garunix was Special Summoned. Garunix destroyed Fire King Avatar Arvata, and the banished Island destroyed Garunix. In a new Chain, Arvata revived Garunix, and it attacked to destroy Little Knight. Sacco used WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils to add Diabellstar the Black Witch to his hand. He Special Summoned it, sending Poplar to the Graveyard. Poplar’s effect put Flamberge in his back row, and Diabellstar Set Deception of the Sinful Spoils on the field. He flipped Deception, Tributing Diabellstar, and Wilkin had Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. Sacco Normal Summoned Oak, reviving Poplar. Poplar put Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye in his hand. He Normal Summoned Legendary Fire King Ponix, putting Fire King Sanctuary in his hand. He played that to get Island. He used Island to destroy Ponix and add Garunix to his hand. He activated Garunix, Sacco used Arvata, and Wilkin used Illia Silvia to negate Arvata. Garunix destroyed Fire King Courtier Ulcanix from the Deck, which Special Summoned Fire King High Avatar Garunix! He stacked his monsters to play The Zombie Vampire, which Special Summoned his own Arvata. He used both monsters to Link Summon Dharc the Dark Charmer, Gloomy, which Special Summoned Diabellstar from Sacco’s Graveyard. Diabellstar Set WANTED. He then Link Summoned Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames, and revived his Flamberge Dragon. Flamberge put Sacco’s Garunix from his Graveyard into the back row, preventing it from returning to play. Wilkin then Link Summoned Salamangreat Raging Phoenix, and Flamberge Special Summoned Oak and Ash. Oak revived Poplar as well. He used Raging Phoenix to Link Summon Worldsea Dragon Zealantis! He used its effect, banishing everything and Special Summoning them again. That triggered the Promethean Princess in his Graveyard, letting him destroy Sacco’s Oak and his own Poplar. Since his Poplar was destroyed, he Special Summoned Raging Phoenix from his Graveyard! Poplar went to his back row. Wilkin activated Island’s effect, destroying his Kirin to add another Kirin to his hand. Kirin Special Summoned Ponix and destroyed Diabellstar. Sacco Special Summoned the same Diabellstar with its effect, sending Arvata to the Graveyard. That triggered Wilkin’s Promethean Princess, destroying his own Ponix and the Diabellstar. He Special Summoned Kirin, destroying Ulcanix from his hand, and that Special Summoned Fire King High Avatar Garunix in Defense Position.
