The Remote Duel YCS has been claimed by the Canadians! All of the Top 4 Duelists hail from Canada, including the two in this Feature Match. We featured Toronto Duelist Darian Nguyen yesterday, with his Fiendsmith Magical Musketeer Unchained Deck. He’s facing Mario De Micco, from Montreal, with a Tenpai Dragon Deck!

Duel 1

De Micco won the die roll and chose to play second. Nguyen began with the effect of Fiendsmith Engraver, adding Fiendsmith’s Sanct to his hand. He then played Fiendsmith’s Tract, and De Micco responded with Dimension Shifter! Nguyen added Magical Musketeer Starfire to his hand, then discarded Forbidden Droplet. He Normal Summoned Starfire and activated Sanct in the same column. He Special Summoned a Fiendsmith Token, but De Micco had Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring to negate Starfire. Nguyen used his monsters to Link Summon Unchained Soul Lord of Yama, which added Unchained Soul of Sharvara to his hand. He activated Triple Tactics Thrust to Set Escape of the Unchained.

De Micco activated Raigeki, then Normal Summoned Tenpai Dragon Genroku. Nguyen activated the effect of Sharvara in his hand, and De Micco Chained Genroku’s effect. De Micco Special Summoned Tenpai Dragon Paidra, and Nguyen Special Summoned Sharvara by destroying his Set Escape. Paidra and Escape activated, and De Micco negated Escape with another Ash Blossom. Paidra put Sangen Summoning in De Micco’s hand, and he played it to add Tenpai Dragon Chundra to his hand, discarding Dominus Impulse. He Special Summoned Chundra, and Nguyen conceded, knowing full well how the Tenpai combos would demolish his Life Points.

Duel 2

Nguyen chose to play first, beginning with Fiendsmith’s Tract. He found Fabled Lurrie and discarded it, then Special Summoned it. De Micco now used Dimension Shifter, but Nguyen had Called by the Grave! He Link Summoned Fiendsmith’s Requiem, and used it to Special Summon Lacrima the Crimson Tears. Lacrima sent Fiendsmith Engraver to the Graveyard. He activated Fiendsmith’s Sanct to get a Fiendsmith Token, and Link Summoned Unchained Soul Lord of Yama. Yama put Sharvara in his hand. He Special Summoned Engraver, returning Lurrie to the Deck. He Link Summoned Fiendsmith’s Sequence, and De Micco used Infinite Impermanence when it was Summoned. Sharvara destroyed Sequence to Special Summon itself, and Yama brought Sequence back to the field. He used Sequence’s effect to Fusion Summon Fiendsmith’s Desirae. Then he used Sequence and Sharvara to Link Summon Unchained Soul of Rage. Sharvara Set Escape of the Unchained on his field. He equipped Sequence to Desirae, then played Triple Tactics Thrust to Set Dimensional Barrier!

De Micco played Sangen Kaimen to add Tenpai Dragon Genroku to his hand, and he Special Summoned it as a Level 4 Tuner. He Normal Summoned Paidra, and Nguyen responded with Desirae to negate De Micco’s monsters, and Chained Dimensional Barrier to prevent any Synchro Summons this turn! De Micco was completely shut down, and conceded!

Duel 3

De Micco chose to play first this time, and played Terraforming. He added Sangen Summoning to his hand, and Nguyen had Droll & Lock Bird. De Micco Set a whopping FOUR back row cards!

Nguyen played Fiendsmith’s Tract to put Starfire in his hand, discarding Unchained Soul of Shyama. He Normal Summoned Starfire, and De Micco flipped Solemn Judgment! Nguyen played Fiendsmith’s Sanct, and De Micco flipped Dominus Impulse! Nguyen Set two back row cards.

De Micco actiated Sangen Summoning, using it to add Paidra to his hand and discard Genroku. He Normal Summoned Paidra, using it to add Sangen Kaimen to his hand. He moved to the Battle Phase, and attacked with Paidra. He played Kaimen next, finding Chundra and Special Summoning it. Chundra attacked, and Nguyen flipped Forbidden Droplet, sending his Set Triple Tactics Thrust to the Graveyard to weaken and negate Chundra. De Micco used Paidra’s effect to Synchro Summon Sangenpai Bident Dragion. And Bident bought Paidra back to the field, and Nguyen was wide open!
