February 1st, 2025

Wesley Giotta from Tallahassee, Florida and Luis Ruiz from Waterbury, Connecticut are both currently 6-1 at YCS Orlando. Giotta secured this record with his Mimighoul Deck, while Ruiz made it here with his Bystial Maliss Deck. Now, these two Duelists are facing off against one another in a Match that will determine which Duelist secures a 7-1 record before going into the final Swiss Round of the day. It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

Giotta won the die roll and chose to go first. He opened up with Mimighoul Room, Mimighoul Archfiend, Mimighoul Dragon, Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, and Nibiru, the Primal Being.

He activated the effect of Mimighoul Archfiend in his hand to give it to Ruiz face-down and then Normal Summoned Mimighoul Dragon and activated its effect to add Mimighoul Dungeon from his Deck to his hand. He activated it and then used his Dungeon’s effect to add Mimighoul Fairy from his Deck to his hand. He used the Fairy’s effect to Special Summon it and then combined Fairy with Dragon to Xyz Summon Giant Mimighoul. He used its effect to try to add a Mimighoul card from his Deck to his hand, but lost out to Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. He Set the Mimighoul Room before ending his turn.

Ruiz Flip Summoned his Mimighoul Archfiend and its effect activated. Giotta drew Effect Veiler, Ruiz discarded Bystial Druiswurm, and then the Archfiend returned to Giotta. Ruiz Set a card to his back row and then activated Maliss in Underground. He used its effect to banish Maliss
Chessy Cat from his Deck. He paid 300 Life Points to activate Chessy Cat’s effect and Special Summon it. Giotta flipped Mimighoul Room to Special Summon Mimighoul Dragon from his Deck to his field and put the Chessy Cat face-down. He used his Dragon’s effect to add Mimighoul Maker from his Deck to his hand. Next, Giotta banished Druiswurm from his Graveyard to Special Summon another Druiswurm from his hand. He couldn’t attack with Druiswurm since he controlled a face-down monster while Dungeon was face-up on the field. Ruiz conceded the Duel, unable to overcome Giotta’s Mimighouls.

Wesley Giotta overwhelms Luis Ruiz with his Mimighoul cards in Duel 1 to take the first victory!

Duel Two

Ruiz started off Duel 2 by Normal Summoning Maliss
Dormouse and activating its effect, but lost out to Infinite Impermanence. Next, he Set 2 cards face-down and passed his turn.

Giotta drew Mimighoul Dungeon and added it to his hand of Nibiru, the Primal Being, Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Mimighoul Maker, and Mimighoul Room. He activated the Dungeon and used its effect to add Mimighoul Dragon from his Deck to his hand. He activated Mimighoul Maker and Ruiz flipped Dominus Impulse to negate it. Next, Giotta Normal Summoned Mimighoul Dragon and used its effect to add Mimighoul Maker from his Deck to his hand. He Set Mimighoul Room and then passed his turn.

Ruiz sent Dormouse to the Graveyard to Link Summon Linguriboh and then activated the effect of Druiswurm in his hand to Special Summon it by banishing Dormouse from his Graveyard. He paid 300 Life Points to use Dormouse’s effect and Special Summon it from banishment. He then activated its on-field effect to banish Maliss
White Rabbit from his Deck. He Special Summoned Red Random and gained 2300 Life Points. He activated Triple Tactics Thrust next, but lost out to Giotta’s Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. Next, Ruiz activated Triple Tactics Talent and took control of Nibiru, the Primal Being. Giotta flipped Mimighoul Room next. He Special Summoned Mimighoul Dragon to Ruiz’s field face-down and put the Nibiru face-down. Next, Ruiz sent his Primal Being Token to the Graveyard to Link Summon Link Spider. Giotta banished Mimighoul Maker from his Graveyard to flip Mimighoul Dragon face-up, causing its effect to destroy all of Ruiz’s other face-up monsters! The Mimighoul Dragon returned to Giotta, and then the face-down Nibiru returned to Giotta’s side of the field in the End Phase.

Giotta drew Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring and then used his Dungeon’s effect to add Mimighoul Archfiend from his Deck to his hand. He activated Mimighoul Maker and revealed Mimighoul Fairy and Mimighoul Archfiend from his hand. He randomly Set the Archfiend to his field, and Giotta added Fairy to his hand. Next, Giotta Special Summoned Archfiend from his hand, flipping Ruiz’s face-down Archfiend face-up. It’s effect activated, causing Giotta to draw Infinite Impermanence, Ruiz to discard Maliss in Underground, and Archfiend to return to Giotta. Next, Giotta combined his two Archfiends to Xyz Summon Mimighoul Throne and used its effect to Special Summon Mimighoul Master from his Deck in Attack Position. He activated Master’s effect to add Mimighoul Dragon to his hand and then Flip Summoned Nibiru. He Normal Summoned Mimighoul Dragon next and activated its effect to add Mimighoul Room to his hand.
