These Decks are both using a ton of Supreme Darkness cards, getting a chance to shine for the first time here at YCS Orlando.
Duel 1
Copes played first, using Nadir Servant, sending Garura, Wings of Resonant Life to the Graveyard to add Dogmatika Maximus to his hand, then used Garura ‘s effect to draw another card. He Special Summoned Maximus by banishing Garura, then used Maximus’s effect. He sent Tri-Brigade Ferrijit the Barren Blossom and Herald of the Arc Light to the Graveyard, and Slemc sent Virtual World Kyubi – Shenshen and Hi-Speedroid Kitedrake to the Graveyard. Kitedrake put Speedroid Terrortop in Slemc’s hand. Herald put Ame no Murakumo no Mitsurugi in Copes’s hand, and Ferrijit let Copes draw a card and put one on the bottom of his Deck. He activated Mitsurugi Ritual to Ritual Summon Ame no Murakumo, Tributing two copies of Mitsurugi no Mikoto, Saji from his Deck. Saji’s effect put Mitsurugi Prayers in his hand. He Normal Summoned Mitsurugi no Mikoto, Kusanagi, which put Mitsurugi Ritual back in his hand. He played it, Tributing Ame no Murakumo to Special Summon Futsu no Mitama no Mitsurugi from his Deck. Ame no Murakumo put Mitsurugi Prayers in his hand, then returned to the field. Copes Set three cards in his back row to finish the turn.

David Slemc
Slemc had a hand of Kashtira Unicorn, Wynn the Wind Channeler, Speedroid CarTurbo, Speedroid Colonel Clackers, Speedroid Clear Wing Wonder, plus the Terrortop he’d added earlier. He drew Speedroid Taketomborg. He Special Summoned Kashtira Unicorn and added Kashtira Birth to his hand. He Normal Summoned Terrortop and activated it, but Copes flipped Forbidden Droplet, sending Kusanagi and Ame no Murakumo to the Graveyard to negate both Terrortop and Unicorn. Slemc Special Summoned Taketomborg. Copes activated Futsu no Mitama to revive Ame no Murakumo, which destroyed all of Slemc’s monsters! Slemc placed Clackers in the Pendulum Zone, banishing Taketomborg for its effect. Copes responded with Ame no Murakumo, and Slemc discarded Clear Wing Wonder. Clackers resolved, placing Speedroid Wing Synchron in his other Pendulum Zone. He used Wing Synchron’s effect, and Copes flipped Mitsurugi Great Purification, Tributing Futsu to negate and destroy Wing Synchron. Futsu no Mitama put Saji in Copes’s hand, then returned to the field. Slemc played Kashtira Birth and revived Unicorn. Thanks to Unicorn’s WIND Attribute, he Special Summoned CarTurbo from his hand. He used his monsters to Link Summon Hi-Speedroid Rubber Band Shooter, using its effect to banish Hi-Speedroid Chanbara from his Extra Deck and reveal Speedroid Marble Machine and Speedroid Ultra Hound from his Deck, then add one of them to his hand at random. He desparately needed Marble Machine to keep pushing through Copes’s field, but Ultra Hound went to Slemc’s hand instead! That was his last chance, but luck wasn’t on his side this time – he conceded the first Duel.
Duel 2
Slemc started this time with a hand of Droll & Lock Bird, Wynn the Wind Channeler, Infinite Impermanence, Taketomborg, and Ultra Hound. Copes started things by activating Mulcharmy Purulia. Slemc used Wynn’s effect, sending itself and Ultra Hound to the Graveyard to add Terrortop to his hand. He Special Summoned Terrortop, using it to find Marble Machine. He Normal Summoned Marble Machine, adding Colonel Clackers to his hand. Copes activated Mulcharmy Fuwalos now, making things even tougher for Slemc! Slemc thought a moment and decided to simply Set Infinite Impermanence, rather than play further into a double Mulcharmy turn.
Copes played Bonfire, finding Ice Ryzeal, and Slemc used Droll & Lock Bird. Copes played Triple Tactics Talent to look at Slemc’s hand, shuffling back Taketomborg. He Normal Summoned Ice Ryzeal, and Slemc negated it with Infinite Impermanence. Copes Special Summoned Sword Ryzeal, unable to use its effect due to Droll. He Xyz Summoned Ryzeal Detonator, attaching Purulia as a material. Detonator destroyed Marble Machine in battle. Copes moved to Main Phase 2 and activated Triple Tactics Thrust! He used it to Set Nadir Servant, and he then Set another card.

Fritz Copes
Slemc drew Dimensional Barrier, a little too late. He played Colonel Clackers, and Detonator destroyed Terrortop. Slemc used Ultra Hound’s effect in the Graveyard, letting him Special Summon Hi-Speedroid Cork Shooter in Defense Position. He Set Dimensional Barrier.
Copes Normal Summoned Saji, adding Mitsurugi Ritual to his hand. He flipped Nadir Servant next, sending Garura to the Graveyard to add Dogmatika Maximus to his hand. Garura let him draw a card. He played Ultimate Slayer, sending Herald of the Arc Light to the Graveyard to take out Cork Shooter! Herald put Ame no Murakumo in his hand, and he played Mitsurugi Ritual. Slemc flipped Dimensional Barrier on Ritual Monsters, shutting that down. Copes Special Summoned Dogmatika Maximus and moved to the Battle Phase. Detonator, Maximus and Saji gave him enough damage to finish the Match!
Fritz Copes is victorious with Mitsurugi Ryzeal!
