Third Place Feature Match: Jeff Jones vs. Julien Kehon
Jeff Jones from Sterling Heights, Michigan and Julien Kehon from France both lost their Top 4 Match in YCS Orlando, but they still have one more Match to play. Now, they’ll Duel one another for third place, and the winner will take home a Super Rare copy of the Anotherverse Solaria Prize Card. Jones is using a Bystial Maliss Deck, and Kehon is using a Fiendsmith Ryzeal Deck. It’s time to Duel!
Duel One
Kehon went first and Jones activated the effect of the Dimension Shifter in his hand in the Draw Phase. Kehon Normal Summoned Ext Ryzeal and used its effect to add Sword Ryzeal from his Deck to his hand. He used Sword’s effect to add Ice Ryzeal from his Deck to his hand and then combined Ice and Sword to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Detonator. He Set a card to his back row and then passed his turn.
Jones drew Bystial Druiswurm and added it to his hand of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Dominus Impulse, Maliss <C> GWC-06, and Metaltronus. He activated Metaltronus but lost out to Kehon’s Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. He ended his turn.
Kehon Normal Summoned Ice and then activated its effect, but lost out to Jones’s Ash Blossom. Kehon attacked directly with Detonator and Ice and then ended his turn.
Jones drew another Druiswurm and then Special Summoned it from his hand by banishing the Shifter from his Graveyard. He attacked Ice to destroy it and then ended his turn.
Kehon attacked Druiswurm with Detonator to destroy it and Jones used his Druiswurm’s effect to send Detonator to the Graveyard.
Jones drew Maliss <P> White Rabbit and tried to use its effect, but lost out to Infinite Impermanence. Next, he used White Rabbit to Link Summon Link Decoder and then banished the Rabbit from his Graveyard to Special Summon another Druiswurm. He paid 300 Life Points to Special Summon the banished Rabbit with its effect, and when Kehon used the effect of Mulcharmy Fuwalos, Jones stopped it with Ash Blossom. Next, Jones Link Summoned Maliss <Q> Red Random and activated the effects of Link Decoder and Red Random. Kehon Chained Effect Veiler to negate Red Random’s effect. Jones used Link Decoder’s effect to Special Summon it back to the field and Kehon activated the effect of Nibiru, the Primal Being. Jones Chained GWC-06 to banish Red Random and Summon White Rabbit from his Graveyard. Nibiru Tributed the Rabbit and Link Decoder from the field and Summoned itself while giving Jones a Primal Being Token and then Red Random’s effect allowed it to Special Summon itself back to the field. After a flurry of plays, Jones controlled Maliss <Q> White Binder and Red Random. He used the White Binder’s effect, but it was negated by Effect Veiler. Jones Link Summoned Accesscode Talker by using White Binder and Red Random as Link Materials and increased its ATK by 3000 with its effect. Then he banished White Binder to activate Accesscode Talker’s effect and destroy Nibiru. White Binder’s effect let it Special Summon itself back to the field, and then direct attacks from Accesscode Talker and White Binder wiped out all of Kehon’s Life Points!

Duel Two
Kehon went first in Duel 2 and Jones activated the effect of Mulcharmy Purulia from his hand in the Draw Phase. Kehon passed his turn with no other play.
Jones drew Mulcharmy Fuwalos and added it to his hand of Maliss <C> MTP-07, Called by the Grave, Maliss <P> White Rabbit, and Metaltronus. He Set MTP-07 and then Normal Summoned White Rabbit and activated its effect. Kehon activated the effect of a Fuwalos in his hand and Jones Chained Called by the Grave from his hand to banish the Fuwalos and negate its effects. Kehon Chained Infinite Impermanence targeting White Rabbit, but Jones Chained MTP-07 by banishing his White Rabbit and added Maliss <P> Dormouse from his Deck to his hand. He Set Maliss <C> TB-11 from his Deck with the White Rabbit’s effect. Jones paid 300 Life Points to Special Summon his White Rabbit from banishment and then attacked directly with White Rabbit to drop Kehon down to 6800 Life Points. While still in his Battle Phase, Jones flipped Maliss <C> TB-11 by banishing White Rabbit and Special Summoned Maliss <P> Chessy Cat. He Set a card to his back row and then ended his turn.
Kehon activated the effect of Fiendsmith Engraver in his hand by discarding it and added Fiendsmith’s Tract from his Deck to his hand. He used the Tract to add Fabled Lurrie from his Deck to his hand and discard it. He Special Summoned it with its effect and then sent Lurrie to the Graveyard to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem. He Tributed the Requiem to Special Summon Lacrima the Crimson Tears from his Deck and used its effect to send another Engraver from his Deck to his Graveyard. He used Node and Lacrima as Xyz Materials to Summon Ryzeal Duo Drive and then detached 2 Xyz Materials from Duo Drive to activate its effect and add Ryzeal Cross and Sword Ryzeal from his Deck to his hand. He Special Summoned Engraver back from his Graveyard with its effect and then sent Duo Drive and Engraver to his Graveyard to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Sequence. He activated its effect, but Jones flipped Metaltronus to negate it by Special Summoning Knightmare Gryphon from his Extra Deck. Kehon Special Summoned Sword Ryzeal next and activated its effect to add Ext Ryzeal from his Deck to his hand. He Special Summoned Ext by sending Eclipse Twins from his Extra Deck to his Graveyard and then activated Ryzeal Cross. He combined Sword with Ext to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Detonator and used its effect to attach the Eclipse Twins in his Graveyard as an Xyz Material. Detonator attacked and destroyed Chessy Cat. He Set a card to his back row before ending his turn.
Jones drew Bystial Baldrake and then Normal Summoned Maliss <P> Dormouse. He activated its effect and Kehon Chained his Detonator’s effect to destroy Dormouse. Jones banished White Rabbit from his Deck and used its effect to try to Special Summon it, but Kehon used the effect of his Cross to negate the effect by detaching an Xyz Material from Detonator. Next, Kehon Special Summoned Requiem from his Graveyard with Lacrima’s effect and then Tributed Requiem to Special Summon Lacrima. He used Lacrima’s effect to send Engraver from his Deck to his Graveyard. Jones activated the effect of Bystial Baldrake in his hand by targeting Chessy Cat in his Graveyard, and Kehon Chained Detonator’s effect to destroy the Detonator. Baldrake was Summoned and Kehon then used Eclipse Twins to Special Summon Detonator attached with Duo Drive. Jones used his Baldrake’s effect to Tribute Gryphon and banish the Detonator, and Kehon Chained his Detonator’s effect to destroy Chessy Cat. Jones attacked Sequence to destroy it and then ended his turn.
Kehon used the effect of Ryzeal Cross to return Ext and Node from his Graveyard to his Deck and draw card. Next, he Special Summoned Engraver from his Graveyard and Jones conceded, overwhelmed by the number of cards Kehon had.

Duel Three
Jones opened up Duel 3 with Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Maliss <P> Dormouse, Solemn Strike, Bystial Baldrake, and Metaltronus.
He Set Solemn Strike and then Normal Summoned Dormouse. He activated its effect, but lost out to Infinite Impermanence. He sent Dormouse to the Graveyard to Link Summon Link Decoder and then banished Dormouse from his Graveyard to Special Summon Bystial Baldrake from his hand. He paid 300 Life Points to Special Summon Dormouse from banishment, then used all three monsters as Link Materials to Summon Maliss <Q> Red Random. He activated the effects of Red Random and Link Decoder. He Special Summoned Decoder and added Maliss in Underground from his Deck to his hand. He used Decoder and Red Random to Link Summon S:P Little Knight and used its effect to banish Red Random from his Graveyard. He used Red Random’s effect to Special Summon it from banishment by paying 900 Life Points and then banished White Rabbit from his Deck. He used the Rabbit’s effect to Special Summon it from banishment by paying 300 Life Points and then activated the Rabbit’s effect on the field. He Set Maliss <C> GWC-06 with its effect and then used Little Knight and White Rabbit to Link Summon Maliss <Q> White Binder. He used White Binder’s effect to Set Maliss <C> TB-11 from his Deck and then activated it by banishing White Binder. He Special Summoned Chessy Cat and then used White Binder’s effect by paying 900 Life Points to Special Summon it and draw a card. He used its effect to banish TB-11 from his Graveyard and then sent all of his monsters to the Graveyard to Link Summon Maliss <Q> Hearts Crypter. He activated Maliss in Underground next and banished Chessy Cat from his Deck. He paid 300 Life Points to Special Summon it from banishment and then used Chessy Cat’s effect to banish Underground from his hand and draw 2 cards. He Set Metaltronus and then passed his turn.
Kehon activated the effect of the Engraver in his hand by discarding it and added Tract from his Deck to his hand. He activated the Tract, and Jones Chained GWC-06. He Special Summoned White Binder and gained 2300 Life Points. Kehon resolved his Tract to add Lacrima from his Deck to his hand and discard Lurrie from his hand. He used Lurrie’s effect to try to Special Summon it and Jones Chained White Binder’s effect to banish Engraver and Lurrie from Kehon’s Graveyard and the White Rabbit from his own Graveyard. Jones used White Rabbit’s effect to Special Summon it and then used its on-field effect to Set Maliss <C> MTP-07. Next, Kehon Normal Summoned Sword Ryzeal and activated its effect; but when Jones Chained Solemn Strike by paying 1500 Life Points, Kehon conceded.
