Feature Match: TEAM YCS Las Vegas Dragon Duel Finals
It’s all comes down to this! We have Brian M., who won the Dragon Duel event at TEAM YCS Las Vegas on Saturday, playing off against Emmett P., Sunday’s Dragon Duel Champion. The two Duelists will be facing off, each hoping to be crowned the Dragon Duel Champion of TEAM YCS Las Vegas! The winner will receive the Dragon Duel Championship trophy and a set of Super Rare Darklord Prize Cards! It’s time to Duel!
Duel 1
Emmett won the die roll and chose to go first! He opened with Ice Ryzeal, Mulcharmy Fuwalos, Ext Ryzeal, Ryzeal Cross, and Seventh Ascension. He started by Normal Summoning Ice Ryzeal, and Brian responded by activating the effect of Mulcharmy Fuwalos! Emmett Special Summoned Sword Ryzeal from the Deck and added Ext Ryzeal to his hand. He Special Summoned Ext Ryzeal by sending Ryzeal Duo Drive to the Graveyard and added another Sword to his hand. He then used Ice and Ext to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Duo Drive, attaching it with Duo Drive, but when he attempted to activate its other effect to search, Brian responded with Infinite Impermanence! Emmett Special Summoned the other Sword from his hand, activated Ryzeal Cross, then used the two Sword Ryzeal to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Detonator. Brian attempted to activate Nibiru the Primal Being, but Emmett negated it on resolution with Ryzeal Cross and then ended his turn.
Brian started his turn by activating another Infinite Impermanence, negating the effect of Emmett’s Detonator! He Normal Summoned Node Ryzeal, then sent Mulcharmy Fuwalos to the Graveyard to Special Summon Ice Ryzeal from hand! He used Ice and Node to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Detonator, and attempted to attack Emmett’s Detonator, but its Attack Points were modified by the effect of Emmett’s Duo Drive. Brian detached a material from Detonator to prevent it from being destroyed and ended his turn.
Emmett drew Effect Veiler for turn! He Special Summoned Ext Ryzeal by sending Mereologic Aggregator to the Graveyard, searching for Sword Ryzeal and attempting to negate the effect of Brian’s Detonator. Brian Chained the effect of his Detonator, destroying Emmett’s Cross, but Emmett Chained his own Detonator to destroy Brian’s Detonator! Emmett Special Summoned Sword Ryzeal, and with another Xyz Monster ready to hit the field, Brian conceded.
Duel 2
Emmett’s opening hand consisted of Called by the Grave, two copies of Bonfire, and two copies of Ext Ryzeal.
Brian began his turn by activating the effect of Fiendsmith Engraver, adding Fiendsmith’s Tract to his hand. He activated Tract, adding and discarding Fabled Lurrie, then Special Summoned Lurrie and used it to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem! He activated Requiem’s effect, Tributing it to Special Summon Lacrima the Crimson Tears and send another Engraver to the Graveyard. He Special Summoned Engraver from the Graveyard by returning Requiem to the Extra Deck, then used Engraver and Lacrima to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Sequence. He activated Sequence’s effect, returning Engraver, Lacrima, and Lurrie to the Deck to Fusion Summon Fiendsmith Desirae. He used Desirae and Sequence to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Agnumday, then activated Agnumday’s effect to Special Summon Desirae, and equipped Desirae with both Sequence and Agnumday.
Next, Brian Normal Summoned Ice Ryzeal from the Deck to Special Summon Sword Ryzeal and search for Ext Ryzeal. He used Sword and Ice to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Duo Drive, and used Duo Drive’s effect to search for Ice Ryzeal and Ryzeal Cross. He activated Cross, then Special Summoned Ext Ryzeal by sending Eclipse Twins to the Graveyard. He Special Summoned Ice by sending Duo Drive to the Graveyard, then used Ext and Ice to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Detonator and attach it with Eclipse Twins. He Set a card to his backrow and ended his turn.
Emmett drew Effect Veiler for turn! He started by Special Summoning Ext Ryzeal and sending Mereologic Aggregator to the Graveyard. Brian responded with Effect Veiler, Emmett activated Called by the Grave to negate Veiler, and Brian followed up with Detonator’s effect to destroy Ext Ryzeal! Realizing that he had no other ways to push through Brian’s board, Emmett conceded the Duel, and we’re onto game 3!
Duel 3
Emmett chose to go first in game 3, opening with Book of Eclipse, Bonfire, Sword Ryzeal, Ext Ryzeal, and Ryzeal Cross. He Special Summoned Ext Ryzeal by sending Ryzeal Duo Drive to the Graveyard, but Brian responded with Effect Veiler. Next, he Special Summoned Sword Ryzeal, but was met with another Effect Veiler! Emmett used Sword and Ext to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Duo Drive, but that was met by Infinite Impermanence!
Next, Emmett activated Bonfire and searched for Ice Ryzeal. He activated Cross, then Normal Summoned Ice Ryzeal and Special Summoned another Sword Ryzeal from the Deck. He used Ice and Sword to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Detonator and attach it with Duo Drive, then Set a card to his backrow and ended his turn.
Brian started his turn by Normal Summoning Sword Ryzeal, but on resolution, Emmett negated Sword’s effect with Ryzeal Cross. Next, Brian activated the effect of Fiendsmith Engraver, adding Tract to his hand. He activated Tract, adding and discarding Fabled Lurrie, then Special Summoned Lurrie from the Graveyard and used it to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem. He activated Requiem’s effect, Special Summoning Lacrima the Crimson Tears to send another Fiendsmith Engraver to the Graveyard. Brian Special Summoned back Engraver by returning Requiem to the Extra Deck, then used Engraver and Sword to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Sequence. Brian activated Sequence’s effect to Fusion Summon Desirae, detonator to pop sequence. Book of eclipse to flip all monsters face down. Emmett draws cross for turn.
Emmett drew Ryzeal Cross for turn. He switched Detonator and Duo Drive to Attack Position, then activated Ryzeal Plugin, Special Summoning Ice Ryzeal from the Graveyard. He activated the effect of Cross to return cards to the bottom of the Deck, but Brian responded with Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring! Emmett then entered the Battle Phase and attacked Desirae with Duo Drive, using Cross to negate Desirae’s Graveyard effect on resolution, then attacked Brian’s Life Points directly with Detonator and Ice before ending his turn.
Brian Special Summoned Ext Ryzeal by sending Mereologic Aggregator to the Graveyard, using Aggregator to negate Emmett’s Ryzeal Cross. He Special Summoned Fiendsmith Engraver from the Graveyard, then sent Engraver to the Graveyard to Special Summon Ice Ryzeal. He used Ice and Ext to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Duo Drive, then activated Duo Drive’s effect to search for Ryzeal Cross and Node Ryzeal. He activated Cross, returning Ext and Sword to the Deck to draw a card. He Special Summoned Node, then sent Book of Eclipse from his hand to the Graveyard to Special Summon Ice Ryzeal from the Graveyard! He used Ice and Node to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Detonator, then entered the Battle Phase. He used Detonator to attack Duo Drive, then ended his turn.
Emmett drew Bonfire for turn! He activated Bonfire, adding Ext Ryzeal to his hand. Emmett activated the effect of Cross, but Brian responded with Detonator’s effect to destroy it! Next, Emmett sent Mereologic Aggregator to the Graveyard to Special Summon Ext Ryzeal, allowing him to negate Brian’s Cross and search for Sword Ryzeal, as Brian used Detonator’s effect to destroy Emmett’s Detonator. Emmett then Special Summoned Sword Ryzeal and searched for Ice Ryzeal. He Normal Summoned Ice Ryzeal and Special Summoned Node Ryzeal from the Deck. He used Node and Ext to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Detonator, then used Ice and Sword to Xyz Summon Number 60: Dugares the Timeless. He activated Dugares’ effect, doubling Detonator’s Attack Points, and attacked over Duo Drive to reduce Brian’s Life Points to zero!
