Finals Feature Match: Jesse Kotton vs. Aydin Arnett
Team Legionnaire – with Jesse Kotton, Dominic Couch, and Michael Albanese – made it to the Finals. Now, they’re facing off against Team Princess, Target, Target, which is comprised of Aydin Arnett, Jeremy Glassman, and Tian Rong. While the Duelists on Team Legionnaire have a variety of accomplishments, the Duelists on Team Princess, Target, Target are each chasing their first YCS victory. At the end of this final round, 3 more championship trophies will be awarded. It’s time to Duel!
Duel One
Kotton opened up Duel 1 with Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, Infinite Impermanence, Droll & Lock Bird, and 2 copies of Ice Ryzeal.
He Normal Summoned Ice Ryzeal and activated its effect to Special Summon Ext Ryzeal from his Deck. He used the effect of Ext to add Sword Ryzeal from his Deck to his hand and then combined Ext with Ice to Xyz Summon Evilswarm Exciton Knight. He sent it to the Graveyard to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem and then Tributed Requiem to Special Summon Lacrima the Crimson Tears. He used Lacrima’s effect to send a Fiendsmith Engraver from his Deck to his Graveyard, then used Requiem’s effect to equip the Requiem to Lacrima. He Special Summoned Engraver from his Graveyard next by sending Exciton Knight back to his Extra Deck. Next, he sent Lacrima and Requiem to the Graveyard to Special Summon Necroquip Princess. He combined Necroquip with Engraver to Xyz Summon D/D/D Wave High King Caesar. He Special Summoned Sword Ryzeal from his hand next and used its effect to add Ext Ryzeal from his Deck to his hand. He Special Summoned Ext by sending Exciton Knight from his Extra Deck to his Graveyard and Xyz Summoned Ryzeal Duo Drive. He used its effect to attach a card from his Graveyard to Duo Drive as an Xyz Material, then activated its other effect to try to get 2 Ryzeal cards from his Deck; but he lost out to Arnett’s Effect Veiler. Kotton Set Infinite Impermanence before ending his turn.
Arnett activated Bonfire to add Ext Ryzeal from his Deck to his hand, prompting Kotton to activate the effect of Droll & Lock Bird. Arnett Chained Crossout Designator declaring Droll & Lock Bird, and Kotton Chained Lacrima’s effect in his Graveyard to return Lacrima to his Deck and Special Summon Requiem from his Graveyard. Arnett banished Droll from his Deck to negate Kotton’s copy of Droll & Lock Bird. Next, Kotton Tributed his Requiem to Special Summon Lacrima from his Deck, and used Lacrima’s effect to send Fiendsmith in Paradise from his Deck to his Graveyard. Arnett Special Summoned Ext from his hand by sending Mereologic Aggregator from his Extra Deck to his Graveyard. He used the effect of Ext to add Node Ryzeal from his Deck to his hand and used the effect of Aggregator to negate the effect of D/D/D Wave High King Caesar. Next, Arnett Special Summoned Sword Ryzeal and used its effect to add Ice Ryzeal from his Deck to his hand. He combined Sword with Ext to Xyz Summon Evilswarm Exciton Knight and activated its effect by detaching an Xyz Material; but Kotton flipped Infinite Impermanence to negate it! Next, Arnett Special Summoned Node from his hand. He used the effect by sending Exciton Knight to the Graveyard and Special Summoned Sword from his Graveyard. Kotton activated his Wave High King Caesar’s effect to try to negate it, even though the Wave High King Caesar’s effect was negated, since he wanted to get his Engraver that he detached from Wave High King Caesar into the Graveyard. Next, Arnett combined Sword and Node to Xyz Summon Abyss Dweller and activated its effect. He Normal Summoned Ice Ryzeal next and activated its effect to Special Summon Sword Ryzeal from his Deck. He used Ice and Sword to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Duo Drive and used its effect to attach a card from his Graveyard to it as an Xyz Material. Next, he activated its other effect to try to get 2 Ryzeal cards from his Deck by giving up 2 Xyz Materials, but Kotton Chained Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit! Kotton destroyed the Duo Drive, and Arnett no longer had two Xyz Materials that he could detach to resolve Duo Drive’s effect. With just an Abyss Dweller on the field, Arnett conceded.

Duel Two
Arnett started off Duel 2 by activating Bonfire to add Ext Ryzeal from his Deck to his hand, prompting Kotton to activate the effect of Droll & Lock Bird; but Arnett once again activated Crossout Designator and declared Droll & Lock Bird to banish a copy from his Deck and negate Kotton’s Droll & Lock Bird.
Next, Arnett Special Summoned Ext by sending Eclipse Twins from his Extra Deck to his Graveyard, and used the effect of Ext to add Sword Ryzeal from his Deck to his hand. He Special Summoned it and used its effect to add Ice Ryzeal from his Deck to his hand. He combined Sword and Ext to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Duo Drive and then used its effect. He detached both Xyz Materials from it and added Ryzeal Cross and Ryzeal Plugin from his Deck to his hand. He activated the Cross and then Normal Summoned Ice Ryzeal. He used Ice’s effect to Special Summon Node Ryzeal from his Deck and then used Node’s effect to send Duo Drive to the Graveyard and Special Summon Sword. He used Sword and Ice to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Detonator and activated its effect to attach the Eclipse Twins in his Graveyard to it as an Xyz Material. He activated Plugin next. He Special Summoned Ext from his Graveyard and then attached Sword Ryzeal from his Deck to his Detonator. Next, he combined Node with Sword to Xyz Summon Abyss Dweller. He detached Node to activate Dweller’s effect and then returned 2 of his Ryzeal cards from his Graveyard to his Deck to draw a card with the effect of Cross. He Set a card to his back row before ending his turn.
Kotton drew Sword Ryzeal and added it to his hand of Ryzeal Cross, Fiendsmith Engraver, and 2 copies of Ext Ryzeal. In his Draw Phase, Arnett activated the effect of Dweller by detaching its last Xyz Material. Next, Kotton Special Summoned Ext from his hand by sending Abyss Dweller from his Extra Deck to his Graveyard. Kotton activated the effect of Ext, and Arnett Chained Detonator’s effect to destroy Ext. Arnett also negated the effect of Ext by using Cross’s effect. Kotton Special Summoned Sword and used its effect next, and Arnett Chained Detonator’s effect again to destroy Sword. Kotton added Ice from his Deck to his hand with Sword’s effect. Kotton Normal Summoned Ice and activated its effect, but lost out to Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. Next, Kotton activated Ryzeal Cross, and Arnett Chained his Detonator’s effect to destroy his own Detonator. That allowed the Eclipse Twins’s effect to activate when it went to the Graveyard, allowing Arnett to Special Summon Detonator back from the Graveyard with Duo Drive attached as an Xyz Material. He used Detonator’s effect to attach Eclipse Twins to it as an Xyz Material, and when Kotton used the effect of Cross to try to draw a card, Arnett Chained his Detonator’s effect once more to destroy the Cross. Kotton conceded, realizing he had no way of winning the Duel.
The Match is going to a third and final Duel!
Duel Three
Kotton opened up Duel 3 with Fabled Lurrie, Mulcharmy Fuwalos, Fiendsmith’s Tract, Triple Tactics Talent, and Node Ryzeal. He activated the Tract to add Fiendsmith Engraver from his Deck to his hand and discard Fabled Lurrie. He used Lurrie’s effect to Special Summon it and then sent it to the Graveyard to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem. He consulted his teammate, Dominic Couch, for advice, and then Tributed the Requiem to activate its effect. Arnett Chained the effect of Mulcharmy Fuwalos and Kotton Special Summoned Engraver from his hand to prevent Arnett from drawing a card. Kotton used Tactics to reveal Arnett’s hand of Ext, Fuwalos, Metaltronus, and Called by the Grave. He returned Ext to Arnett’s Deck. Kotton equipped his Engraver with the Requiem in his Graveyard using his Requiem’s effect, and then used Engraver’s effect to send the Requiem and Engraver both to the Graveyard. He ended his turn with a clear field and the hope that Arnett wouldn’t draw another Ryzeal monster.
Arnett drew a Triple Tactics Talent and then… Kotton learned that both of his teammates won their Matches! There was no need to continue the Duel!
