Top 4 Feature Match: Daniel Munoz vs. Aydin Arnett

March 16th, 2025

We’re in the Top 4 of TEAM YCS Las Vegas! In this Top 4 Feature Match, Team Princess, Target, Target – consisting of Aydin Arnett, Jeremy Glassman, and Tian Rong – will be facing off against Team YPFL (short for “Yu-Gi-Oh! players for life”). Team YPFL has Daniel Munoz, Richard Serrato, and Manuel Bermudez on it. This Feature Match will focus on the Match between Daniel Munoz and Aydin Arnett. One of these two teams will advance to the Finals, but the other will be eliminated. It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

Munoz opened up Duel 1 with Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Nibiru, the Primal Being, Bystial Baldrake, Maliss in Underground, and Fiendsmith in Paradise.

He activated Maliss in Underground and used its effect to banish Maliss
Dormouse from his Deck. He used Dormouse’s effect to Special Summon it to the field by paying 300 Life Points. Next, he activated its on-field effect, but lost out to Arnett’s Infinite Impermanence. Arnett activated the effect of Mulcharmy Fuwalos next, and Munoz negated it with the effect of Ash Blossom. Next, Munoz Link Summoned Link Decoder. He used the effect of Baldrake next, banishing Dormouse from his Graveyard to Special Summon the Baldrake. He used both of his monsters as Link Materials to Summon Moon of the Closed Heaven and then used Moon as a Link Material to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem. He Tributed Requiem to Special Summon Lacrima the Crimson Tears from his Deck, then used Lacrima’s effect to send an Engraver from his Deck to his Graveyard. He used Engraver’s effect to Special Summon it by returning Moon from his Graveyard to his Extra Deck and then used Lacrima and Engraver as Link Materials to Summon Fiendsmith’s Sequence – but he couldn’t use its effect, since Dormouse’s effect locked him into only Summoning Link Monsters from the Extra Deck for the turn!

Arnett Special Summoned Ext Ryzeal from his hand by sending Ryzeal Duo Drive from his Extra Deck to his Graveyard. He used the effect of Ext to add Sword Ryzeal from his Deck to his hand and then Special Summoned Sword. He used Sword’s effect to add Ice Ryzeal from his Deck to his hand. He combined Sword with Ext to Xyz Summon Abyss Dweller and then activated its effect. Munoz Chained the effect of the Lacrima in his Graveyard to return Lacrima to his Deck and Special Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem. Next, Arnett Normal Summoned Ice Ryzeal and used its effect to Special Summon Node Ryzeal from his Deck. He activated Node’s effect by sending Seventh Ascension from his hand to his Graveyard and Special Summoned Sword Ryzeal. Next, he used Node and Sword to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Duo Drive. He activated its effect to attach a Duo Drive from his Graveyard to it as an Xyz Material. He activated Duo Drive’s other effect to try to get 2 cards from his Deck, but Munoz Chained the effect of Requiem by Tributing it, and then Chained the effect of the Nibiru in his hand to Tribute all monsters remaining on the field! Arnett got a Primal Being Token with 5400 ATK and 3400 DEF, and Munoz Special Summoned his Nibiru. Munoz Special Summoned Lacrima from his Deck with Requiem’s effect, and then used Lacrima’s effect to send an Engraver from his Deck to his Graveyard. Arnett ended his turn, disappointed that his play was shut down by Nibiru, the Primal Being.

Munoz drew Fabled Lurrie and then Special Summoned Engraver from his Graveyard by returning Sequence from his Graveyard to his Extra Deck. He used Requiem’s effect in the Graveyard to equip Requiem to Engraver and then used Engraver’s effect to get rid of the Requiem and Primal Being Token. He Normal Summoned Fabled Lurrie next and then sent Lurrie and Lacrima to the Graveyard to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Sequence. He activated its effect and returned Requiem, Lacrima, and Engraver from his Graveyard to his Deck to Special Summon Fiendsmith’s Desirae. He entered his Battle Phase, and direct attacks from Nibiru, Engraver, Sequence, and Desirae wiped out all 8000 of Arnett’s Life Points!

Daniel Munoz wins the first Duel with his Fiendsmith Maliss Deck!

Duel Two

Arnett started off Duel 2 by Special Summoning Ext from his hand by sending Eclipse Twins from his Extra Deck to his Graveyard.

He used the effect of Ext to add Sword Ryzeal from his Deck to his hand, prompting Munoz to activate the effect of Droll & Lock Bird. Next, Arnett activated Triple Tactics Talent, choosing to remove a card from Munoz’s hand. Munoz revealed Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, 2 copies of Maliss
Dormouse, and Fiendsmith Engraver. Arnett returned the Engraver to Munoz’s Deck. Next, Arnett Special Summoned Sword Ryzeal. He combined Sword and Ext to Summon Ryzeal Detonator and used the Detonator’s effect to attach the Eclipse Twins in his Graveyard to it as an Xyz Material. As he continued, Arnett learned that both of his teammates won their Matches. There was no need to continue – Team Princess, Target, Target is moving on to the Finals!
