NAWCQ Top 4 Feature Match: Mario Angelo De Micco vs. Ryan Linus Yu
We’re almost there! We’re down to the final four Duelists, and the winners will be moving on to the finals of the 2026 North America WCQ. Mario Angelo De Micco is playing the Kewl Tune Deck, one that has been extremely successful the whole weekend. Ryan Linus Yu is playing the Sky Striker Deck, a strategy that he has piloted to the top cut of multiple premiere events over the last couple of years. Only one of these amazing Duelists will win and move on to the finals. It’s time to Duel!
Duel 1
De Micco won the die roll and chose to go first! He started in the Draw Phase, activating Kewl Tune Synchro to search for Kewl Tune Cue. He activated the effect of Kewl Tune Rotary, revealing Cue, then Normal Summoned Cue, Special Summoning Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring from his Deck. He used Cue and Rotary to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune Track Maker, using the effects of his Kewl Tune monsters to look at Yu’s hand and search for Kewl Tune Synchro and JJ “Kewl Tune”. He also looked at the top two cards of Yu’s Deck, banishing Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! and returning Sky Striker Ace – Raye to the bottom of Yu’s Deck. De Micco next activated JJ, then used its effect to Tribute Ash, allowing him to Special Summon Kewl Tune Mix and search for Kewl Tune Reco. He Normal Summoned Reco and searched for Kewl Tune Clip, then used Mix and Cue to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune Remix. Finally, he Set a card to his backrow and ended his turn.

Yu opened with Pot of Desires, Reinforcement of the Army, Forbidden Crown, Radiant Typhoon Vision, and Called by the Grave. He then drew Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor for turn! In the Standby Phase, De Micco activated the effect of Kewl Tune Remix; Yu Chained Called by the Grave, but De Micco followed up with the effect of Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion! De Micco added Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring back to hand and Special Summoned Kewl Tune Mix, then used Mix’s effect to add Kewl Tune Cue back to hand. Yu then activated Reinforcement of the Army and searched for Sky Striker Ace – Raye. He followed it up with Pot of Desires, drawing Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit and Sky Striker Mobilize – Linkage! He activated Radiant Typhoon Vision, drawing Triple Tactics Talent and another copy of Linkage, then discarded one of the copies of Linkage. He Normal Summoned Raye and used it to Link Summon Sky Striker Ace – Hayate! Before he could get to the Battle Phase, De Micco activated the effect of Kewl Tune Clip, Special Summoning it, then using it and Track Maker to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune Loudness War. De Micco used Clip’s effect to banish Sky Striker Ace – Kagari from Yu’s Extra Deck and Track Maker’s effect to return Hayate to the Extra Deck. On resolution, Yu activated the effect of Raye in the Graveyard; De Micco Chained the effect of Loudness War, banishing Rotary; Yu Chained Widow Anchor; and De Micco activated Kewl Tune Synchro as Chain Link 4! De Micco searched for Rotary, then used Loudness War and Mix to Synchro Summon Visas Amritara, and resolved Loudness War’s effect to return Raye to the bottom of the Deck.
Yu then activated Triple Tactics Talent, looking at De Micco’s hand and returning Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring to the Deck. Yu also Chained Sky Striker Mobilize – Linkage!, sending Talent to the Graveyard to Special Summon Sky Striker Ace = Zero and search for Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! He activated Engage, searching for another copy of Linkage and drawing Radiant Typhoon Vision, then used Zero to Link Summon Sky Striker Ace – Kagari and add Engage back to hand. He activated Engage once again, searching for Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor and drawing Sky Striker Ace – Roze, then proceeded to the Battle Phase and used Kagari to attack Amritara. In Main Phase 2, he used Kagari to Link Summon Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku, activated Vision to search for Mystical Space Typhoon, then Set three cards to his backrow. In the End Phase, he activated the effect of Shizuku to search for Sky Striker Special Maneuver – Lemnisgate!
De Micco started his turn by activating the effects of two copies of Mulcharmy Fuwalos! Yu responded by activating Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy JJ. De Micco then activated the effect of Kewl Tune Rotary, Normal Summoning it. Here, Yu activated Widow Anchor, taking control of Rotary! Finally, De Micco Normal Summoned Kewl Tune Cue and activated its effect, but it was met by Yu’s Forbidden Crown. De Micco conceded the first Duel.

Duel 2
De Micco chose to go first once again! He Normal Summoned Kewl Tune Mix and activated its effect, searching for Kewl Tune Rotary. On resolution, Yu activated the effect of Droll & Lock Bird. De Micco then activated the effect of Rotary, allowing him to Normal Summon Cue and Special Summon Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring from his Deck. He used Rotary and Cue to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune Track Maker, allowing him to look at Yu’s hand, then looked at the top two cards of Yu’s Deck, banishing Pot of Desires and placing Called by the Grave on top of Yu’s Deck. De Micco then used Mix and Ash to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune Remix! He activated JJ “Kewl Tune”, then Tributed Track Maker to Special Summon Kewl Tune Reco and add Rotary back to hand. He then ended his turn.
Yu opened with Mystical Space Typhoon, Sky Striker Mobilize – Linkage!, Droll & Lock Bird, Sky Striker Special Maneuver – Lemnisgate!, and Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor. He drew Called by the Grave for turn, then activated Mystical Space Typhoon in the Draw Phase, destroying De Micco’s JJ! Yu Chained Sky Striker Special Maneuver – Lemnisgate, De Micco activated the effect of Remix, Yu Chained Called by the Grave, and De Micco activated the effect of Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion! This allowed De Micco to add Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring to hand and Special Summon Kewl Tune Mix, then use Cue and Rotary to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune Track Maker! Meanwhile, Yu sent Mystical Space Typhoon to the Graveyard to Special Summon Sky Striker Ace – Hayate. In a new Chain, De Micco used the effects of Rotary and Mix to search for Kewl Tune Synchro and add Cue from the Graveyard back to hand; however, Yu activated Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor to negate the effect of Track Maker and take control of it.

Yu entered the Battle Phase and attacked De Micco’s Life Points directly with Hayate, using Hayate’s effect to send Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! to the Graveyard. In Main Phase 2, he used Hayate to Link Summon Sky Striker Ace – Kagari and attempted to add Engage back to hand, but De Micco Chained the effect of Effect Veiler. He then used Kagari to Link Summon Prototype Sky Striker Ace – Amatsu, then used Amatsu and Track Maker to bring out Azalea! He used Azalea’s effect to destroy Reco, then Link Summoned Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku. In the End Phase, Yu activated Sky Striker Special Maneuver – Lemnisgate!, but De Micco Chained the effect of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. Knowing that he could not with stand De Micco’s upcoming swarm of Kewl Tune monsters, Yu conceded, and we have a game three!

Duel 3
Yu chose to go first in the final game, opening with Forbidden Crown, Sky Striker Mobilize – Linkage!, Reinforcement of the Army, Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion, and Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! He started by activating Reinforcement of the Army, searching for Sky Striker Ace – Raye. He activated Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage!, searching for Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor, then Normal Summoned Raye. He used Raye to Link Summon Sky Striker Ace – Kagari and added Engage back to hand. He activated Engage once again, searching for Sky Striker Mobilize – Linkage! Next, he activated Linkage, sending Kagari to the Graveyard to Special Summon Sky Striker Ace = Zero. Yu activated the effect of Zero, De Micco Chained the effect of Effect Veiler, and Yu activated Sky Striker Mobilize – Linkage! as Chain Link 3! Yu sent Zero to the Graveyard and Special Summoned Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku, then added Engage back to hand. He activated Engage one more time, searching for another copy of Sky Striker Mobilize – Linkage! and drawing Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring! Yu Set three cards to his backrow, searched for Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor during the End Phase, and ended his turn.
De Micco started his turn by Normal Summoning Kewl Tune Reco! He activated its effect, but Yu Chained Forbidden Crown! Without any ways to push through Yu’s board, De Micco conceded.

Yu wins the match, and is moving on to the finals of the 2026 North America WCQ!
