We’re entering the final Swiss round for today’s competition at the NA Dragon Duel Championship! Hailing from Orem, UT, we have Emmet P. with the new Light and Darkness Ritual Deck! He’s facing Cade C., from Raleigh, NC, with Kewl Tune!

Duel 1

Cade won the dice roll and played first. Emmett had a hand of Super Polymerization, Light and Darkness Ritual, Soul Resonator, Phara the Primordial Goddess, and Incredible Ecclesia, the Virtuous.

Cade Normal Summoned Kewl Tune Cue, which brought Kewl Tune Rotary to the field. He used both monsters to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune Track Maker. Track Maker put JJ “Kewl Tune” in his hand. Then, Rotary let him look at Emmett’s hand and add Kewl Tune Synchro to his own hand. Cue let him look at Emmett’s next two cards, putting Chaos Mystic Box on the bottom and banishing Skull Archfiend of Chaos. He used Track Maker and Reco from his hand to Synchro Summon Zalen the Shackled Dragon, then Set two back row cards.

Emmett drew Black Luster Soldier – Soldier of Light and Darkness. He Special Summoned Incredible Ecclesia and used its effect – Cade negated it with Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. Then, Cade flipped up Kewl Tune Synchro to add Kewl Tune Clip to his hand. Emmett tried using Soul Resonator, and Cade Chained Kewl Tune Synchro again, and used Zalen to negate and destroy Soul Resonator. Kewl Tune Synchro’s effect put Reco in Cade’s hand. Emmett used Phara’s effect with his Light and Darkness Ritual. He played it, Tributing Phara to Ritual Summon his Black Luster! Phara’s effect let him Special Summon it and steal Zalen – Cade used Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit to destroy Phara in turn. Then, he used Clip’s effect. He Special Summoned it, then Synchro Summoned with Reco for Kewl Tune RS. Clip’s effect randomly banished The Dragon that Devours the Dogma from the Extra Deck. Emmett Set Super Polymerization, but had no cards to discard for it.

Cade played The Fallen & The Virtuous, sending Albion the Branded Dragon to the Graveyard to destroy Black Luster. Kewl Tune RS attacked over Zalen. In the End Phase, Albion put another The Fallen & The Virtuous on the field.

Emmett drew Magician of Dark Chaos – Black Chaos! He returned Light and Darkness Ritual to his hand, along with Black Luster. He played it, and Cade responded with RS to negate the Ritual Spell.

Cade activated JJ “Kewl Tune”, then Normal Summoned Ash Blossom. That left him open to Super Polymerization! Emmett discarded Magician of Dark Chaos to fuse Cade’s monsters into Sea Monster of Theseus. Cade used The Fallen & The Virtuous to send Ecclesia and the Dark Dragon to the Graveyard and destroy Theseus.

Emmett drew another Super Polymerization. He returned his Ritual Spell and Magician to his hand. He played it, banishing Phara from the Graveyard to bring the Magician of Dark Chaos to the field. Magician returned Light and Darkness Ritual to his hand, and then it banished Cade’s JJ “Kewl Tune”. He attacked directly, then Set Super Polymerization.

Cade Normal Summoned Reco, then used Ecclesia and the Dark Dragon’s effect to shuffle the Magician back into the Deck. Reco and Rotary were used to bring down Track Maker. Reco destroyed the Set Super Polymerization. Track Maker put Cue in his hand, and Rotary put Kewl Tune Synchro in his hand. He activated Kewl Tune Synchro to add another Rotary to his hand, and used its effect to Normal Summon Cue. Cue brought Reco to the field. He used Cue and Reco to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune Loudness War. Cue let him banish Fallen of the White Dragon and leave a Black Luster on the top of the Deck. He used Loudness War and Track Maker to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune B2B, and it attacked twice to end the Duel!

Duel 2

Emmett started this Duel with Griffoh, Fallen of the White Dragon, Soul Resonator, Incredible Ecclesia, and Black Luster.

In the Draw Phase, he used Griffoh to Set Mind Shuffle. He activated it, adding Skull Archfiend of Chaos to his hand and discarding it. Its effect then sent Light and Darkness Ritual to his Graveyard and added Magician of Dark Chaos to his hand. He used the effect of Light and Darkness Ritual in his Graveyard, adding it and Griffoh to his hand. He Normal Summoned Incredible Ecclesia and used its effect to Special Summon Fallen of the White Dragon. Cade had Effect Veiler for the new monster. He activated Light and Darkness Ritual , and Cade had Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion to negate it. Emmett used the effect of Skull Archfiend to put Light and Darkness Ritual  and Cade’s Veiler and Ghost Belle all on the bottom of the Decks, to Special Summon the Skull Archfiend. He used Skull Archfiend and Fallen of the White Dragon to Synchro Summon Chaos Angel in Defense Position. He Set The Fallen & The Virtuous to finish.

Emmett used his Mind Shuffle at the start of Cade’s turn, adding Black Chaos to his hand and discarding Soul Resonator. He used Griffoh’s effect to Set Chaos Mystic Box. Cade Normal Summoned Kewl Tune Mix, adding Rotary to his hand. He used Rotary’s effect, revealing Fydraulis Harmonia, to Normal Summon Rotary. Emmett flipped The Fallen & The Virtuous to destroy Rotary, while sending Rindbrumm the Striking Dragon to the Graveyard. Cade used Mix with Clip from his hand to Synchro Summon Track Maker. He activated Clip, Track Maker, and Mix (targeting Chaos Angel), and Emmett Chained Chaos Mystic Box! He returned his Chaos Angel to the Extra Deck, Special Summoned Magician of Dark Chaos, and destroyed Track Maker. Clip banished Despian Luluwalilith, and Mix had no target to destroy. Track Maker put JJ “Kewl Tune” in Cade’s hand. Emmett used Magician of Dark Chaos’s effect to get The Fallen & The Virtuous back in his hand, and Cade responded with Fydraulis Harmonia! He Special Summoned the Harmonia, sent Golden Cloud Beast – Malong to the Graveyard, and was unable to destroy the Magician since Harmonia didn’t target it. In a new Chain, Malong targeted the Magician. Emmett Chained Mind Shuffle to return his Magician of Dark Chaos and Special Summon Black Chaos.

Cade played JJ “Kewl Tune”, using its effect to Tribute Harmonia. Emmett responded with Mind Shuffle once more, returning Black Chaos to Special Summon Black Luster. JJ resolved to bring Reco to the field, and Emmett banished Reco with Black Luster. Reco’s effect put Mix in Cade’s hand. He used Bystial Magnamhut to banish Griffoh from the Graveyard, and Emmett Chained Rindbrumm to Special Summon Fallen of the White Dragon. Magnamhut hit the field, and Fallen of the White Dragon brought Incredible Ecclesia to the field. Cade moved to the Battle Phase, and Emmett used Incredible Ecclesia to Special Summon Fallen of Albaz! Cade knew its effect would leave him with nothing, and conceded!

Duel 3

Emmett’s opening hand for the final Duel was Fydraulis Harmonia, Mind Shuffle, Fallen of Albaz, Illusion Gate, and Pot of Sloth.

Cade used Rotary, revealing itself and Reco. He Normal Summoned Reco and added Clip to his hand. He used Reco and Rotary to Synchro Summon Track Maker. Track Maker put Cue in his hand; then Rotary revealed Emmett’s hand and let Cade add Kewl Tune Synchro. He used Track Maker and Cue to Synchro Summon Zalen. Cue’s effect revealed Skull Archfiend and Ragged Records of Rites. Skull Archfiend was banished, and Records went to the bottom. Cade Set three cards to finish.

Emmett drew Fallen of the White Dragon. He Normal Summoned Fallen of Albaz, discarding Mind Shuffle. Cade Chained Kewl Tune Synchro, then Chained Zalen to negate and destroy Fallen of Albaz. Kewl Tune Synchro put Reco in his hand. Emmett played Pot of Sloth, getting a new hand of Fydraulis Harmonia, Illusion Gate, Fallen of the White Dragon, Ragged Records, and The Fallen & The Virtuous. He played Ragged Records to get Griffoh in his hand. He used Griffoh’s effect to Set Mind Shuffle, and flipped it up. Cade had Solemn Accusation! He paid 3000 Life Points to negate and banish Mind Shuffle! Emmett Special Summoned Fallen of the White Dragon by sending Albion to the Graveyard, and Cade negated it with Ghost Belle. Emmett finally played Illusion Gate, paying half his Life Points to destroy Zalen and Special Summon it to his side. Cade now used Clip’s effect to Special Summon Clip, then tune it to Reco for Kewl Tune RS. Clip’s effect banished Chaos Angel from the Extra Deck. In the End Phase, Albion Set The Fallen & The Virtuous on the field.

Cade flipped up Kewl Tune Synchro to add Cue to his hand. He Normal Summoned it and activated its effect, and Emmett Chained Fydraulis Harmonia. He Special Summoned it, sent Malong to the Graveyard, and destroyed RS. Cue’s effect resolved to Special Summon Mix. In a new Chain, Cade’s Mix and Emmett’s Malong activated their effect – that let Emmett use Zalen to negate and destroy Mix!

Emmett drew Griffoh. He sent Zalen, Fallen of the White Dragon, and Fydraulis Harmonia to attack and end the Match!
