Q: What is the attendance capacity for this YCS?
A: Due to safety, health, and fire regulations, we have seating for up to 800 Duelists for this YCS (this is the total Duelist venue capacity). We urge you to pre-register online to have a better chance of being able to play in the Main Events. If the venue reaches capacity, additional Duelists will not be allowed to enter the hall. As space opens up from the Main Events, we will offer numerous Public Events that you will still be able to participate in throughout the weekend.
Q: How many Main Events will be at YCS Montréal, QC?
A: YCS Montréal, QC will feature two Main Events. The Genesys Main Event Day 1 will be held on Friday, August 14th and Day 2 on Sunday, August 16th. The Advanced Main Event Day 1 will be held on Saturday, August 15th and Day 2 on Sunday, August 16th. If a Duelist makes Day 2 for both events, they will need to choose which Day 2 they want to compete in once the standings are posted at the end of Saturday, August 16th.

Genesys
Genesys rules are simple:
- No Link Monsters or Pendulum Monsters are allowed. All other cards are allowed. The original field layout is used, with no Extra Monster Zones nor Pendulum Zones.
- The standard Forbidden & Limited Cards list is not used. All those cards can be used, except Link Monsters and Pendulum Monsters. Usual limit of 3 copies max of any card still applies.
- Deck construction uses a point system. Some cards are assigned a point value; most cards cost zero points. The total point cost of cards in your Main Deck, Extra Deck, and Side Deck (combined) cannot exceed the point cap for that event.
For the Genesys Main Event, we will use the 100 Points cap for Deck-building. Click the link below for the current Genesys Points list. Genesys Deck List must be submitted through NEURON, the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG support app.

Q: How many Rounds will the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series have?
A: The total number of Duelists in each of the Main Events, Advanced and Genesys, will determine the number of Rounds that are played in that specific Main Event.

Q: How many Duelists will advance to Day 2?
A: If there are 256 or fewer Duelists registered for one of the Main Events, Advanced or Genesys, then the Top 64 Duelists OR Duelists with a minimum of 15 Points, whichever number is larger, will advance to Day 2 for that specific Main Event.
If there are 257 – 512 Duelists registered for one of the Main Events, Advanced or Genesys, then the Top 64 Duelists OR Duelists with a minimum of 18 points, whichever is larger, will advance to Day 2 for that specific Main Event.
If there are 513 – 1024 Duelists registered for one of the Main Events, Advanced or Genesys, then the Top 128 Duelists OR all Duelists with a minimum of 18 Points, whichever number is larger, will advance to Day 2 for that specific Main Event.
Q: What cards are legal for play?
A: Please check the “Products” page online at https://www.yugioh‐card.com/en/products/ for the most current legality dates of Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME product releases, prior to preparing your Deck for the event.
Cards that have been altered from their original appearance with surface decoration may be used for play
only if the alterations do not obscure any portion of the card text, make the illustration difficult to recognize, or make the card distinguishable from other cards in the Deck while it is face-down.
If a card’s surface decoration renders the card unrecognizable at first glance, then the card is not allowed for tournament play.
The Head Judge of the event has final arbitration on whether or not altered cards may be used at the tournament. Duelists are responsible for determining whether or not their altered cards are acceptable for use before the start of the tournament.
Q: Will there be meal breaks during the YCS?
A: As there will be food and drinks available inside the tournament hall, there will not be any meal breaks scheduled into the tournament.

A: For this YCS, Duelists will need to register online to secure a seat to compete in the Genesys Main Event.
- Duelists can register online here:

- If you have not used the site to register for a YCS or WCQ event, you will need to create an account in order to register. You can do this at any time, you do not need to wait for the event registration to open to register an account.
- Registration will remain open until either all available seats in the Genesys Main Event are sold out or until Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 12:00 PM ET (whichever comes first).
- Space is limited.
- Duelists who successfully register must still arrive at the YCS and check in on Thursday, August 13, 2026 between 12:00 PM ET and 6:00 PM ET to confirm their seat in the Tournament or their seat will be forfeited, and their entry will be refunded after the YCS. Duelists who have also registered for the Advanced Main Event can also check in for the Advanced Main Event at this time.

Q: How do I turn in my Deck List for the Genesys Main Event?
A: Once you have registered for the Genesys Main Event you will need to go into NEURON and submit your Genesys Deck List.
- The YCS Montréal, QC Genesys Main Event will appear in the Confirm/Manage My Tournaments section on the Events tab between 24 and 48 hours after you register for the event.

Duelists must still be enrolled in the tournament at the end of the final Round of Swiss and ranked in the Top 16 or Top 32 respectively to receive these Prize Cards.
