Welcome to Day 2 of YCS – Sao Paulo. We’ve welcomed back the Top 16 to duke it out for the title, YCS Champion! Read more…
The second Giant Card has been claimed! Shna Janyaprayot from Southern California used his Nekroz Deck to best Kozmo in the finals to take home the giant Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend!
Here are your Top 4 for Sunday’s Dragon Duel tournament!
After getting 2nd at this year’s NAWCQ and a Top 4 finish at the World Championship in Kyoto, Chase Cunningham has been on a real hot streak. He has chosen to bring Burning Abyss this weekend, and while we had seen a ton of this strategy throughout the recent competitive season, it has definitely diminished in numbers this tournament. His opponent is Richard St. Jovite who is one of many players Dueling with Kozmo. Will the power of Kozmo Dark Destroyer be too much for Burning Abyss to handle? Or can Cunningham navigate correctly to claim victory?
Cunningham won the roll and chose for St. Jovite to go first.
It’s the final round of Swiss play! This round will determine the Top 32. We’ve got Oscar Renderos piloting an awesome Igknight Deck, up against Manav Dawar using Nekroz. These duelists each have lost two games, so they absolutely must win for a chance at making it into the Top 32.
Zhenning Guo is the only undefeated Majespecter Duelist left in the tournament, and while he is probably already locked for Top Cut at this point, getting into the Top 32 as the first seed has some pretty big upside in terms of who you are paired against in the first rounds. His opponent is Sven Amaya, one of many Duelists who chose to Duel with Kozmo this weekend, but unlike Guo he is sitting at 7-0-1, meaning that he has a draw and that this match matters much more for him. If he loses this match he will need to win the following, otherwise he is likely to be out of contention for Top Cut. Who will come out on top between this battle between Dimension of Chaos strategies?
Amaya won the roll and opted for Guo to go first.
Welcome to Day 2 of YCS San Jose! Adam Cisneros is using the newest Deck out of Dimension of Chaos, Majespecters! His opponent is Juan Carlos Orozco Orozco (That’s double the Orozco), using a Satellarknight Deck featuring a ton of tricks to get over the competition. In particular, he has DNA Transplant and Stellarknight Alpha to combo with Stellarknight Constellar Diamond! Each Duelist has two losses, so they’ll need to win if they want a shot at making the Top 32.
Here are the winners of Sunday’s Dragon Duel!
For the final round of Sunday’s Dragon Duel’s, we’re featuring some familiar faces! We saw 11-year-old Zach Taylor, from Aurora, IL, in yesterday’s feature where he faced off against Jackson Sayre. He’s made it back to the Feature Table today, looking to win it this time. He’s facing 13-year-old Michael Sakowicz, from Naperville, IL. The Duelists will be facing off with their Sealed Decks, and the winner will move on to face Jackson Sayre in the final Dragon Duel playoff!
