We are down to the Top 8 Duelist, here are the pairing for the Quarterfinals.
We’re down to the Top 4 at YCS – Costa Rica. Who will emerge victorious?
Wind-Ups and Geargia are two of the most successful Decks in this tournament, and they’re going head to head here in the Quarterfinals! This is Sorosh Saberian’s fifth appearance in the playoffs of a YCS, but he’s never won one. He’s playing Wind-Ups, Jordan Koruntoff is running Geargias. Both of these Duelists are from right here in Toronto, but only one could proceed to the Top 4!
Michael Steinman is an Iowan Duelist, and this is his third time making the top cut of a WCQ! He’s hoping to take Dino Rabbit to the finals. Robert Lewis is here from Kentucky, participating in his very first WCQ! He brought a heavily teched out Wind-Up Deck, featuring a ton of additional Special Summon power – including Marauding Captain, Junk Forward, Instant Fusion, and Emergency Teleport plus Psychic Commander!
Here are the match-ups for the Top 8.
|1||Delgado Portilla, Gerardo Jesus||Wind-Ups||vs.||Mora Caceres, Sebastian Alejandro||Dino Rabbit|
|2||Chavez Retto, Cristian Andre||Dino Rabbit||vs.||Delgado Chavarry, Hector Carlos||Dino Rabbit|
|3||Ruiz Rios, Jonatan Javier||Dino Rabbit||vs.||Herrera Castro, Michael Virgilio||Six Samurai|
|4||Medina Astete, Carlos||Dino Rabbit||vs.||Garcia Hesny, Jorge Luis||Dino Rabbit|
Looks as if 6 of the 7 Dino Rabbit Decks from the Top 16 have moved on to the Top 8. Will Dino Rabbit win or will Six Samurai or Wind-Ups be considered the top Deck for YCS Lima?
With 6 different Deck types, the Top 8 for this tournament is nothing short of incredible! Not only were Dark World and Piper Chaos still in contention, but this Match would see Joseph Giorlando’s Skill Drain Elemental HEROes up against the slickest Wind-Up variant in the tournament; Wilson Tsang’s Beastly Wind-Ups, armed with Ape Fighter, Photon Saber Tiger, and Horn of the Phantom Beast! This one was anybody’s game, but Skill Drain could certainly prove to be a deciding factor in Giorlando’s favor.
Each of these Top 8 Finalists will receive a Blood Mefist prize card, along with many other cool prizes. But the battle continues to see who can climb even higher!
Gabriel Perez (Piper Chaos) vs. Angel Ascencio (Dino Rabbit)
Gabriel Perez wins and advances to the Top 4!
Simon He (Dino Rabbit) vs. Ryan Machado (Dino Rabbit)

Dino Rabbit and Wind-Up Decks were popular this weekend, and now they’re facing off against one another in this Quarterfinal Match. Ankit Shah is using Dino Rabbit against Tyree Tinsley’s Wind-Up Deck, but only one of these Duelists will advance to the Top 4!
Derek Rouse and Alberto Gonzalez were both 8-2 at the end of the Swiss Rounds, and now they’re Dueling against one another in the Top 8! Either Derek Rouse and his Karakuri Deck, or Alberto Gonzalez and his Dino Rabbit Deck, will advance to the Top 4! Read more…
