Fans of Ritual Monsters, rejoice! Code of the Duelist introduces a brand new theme of monsters, the Vendread, that specialise in Ritual Summoning and empowering the Ritual Monsters they Summon. We’re not going to talk about the Vendread monsters today, though – we’re going to discuss the Vendread Trap Card that will help not only your Vendread Deck, but just about any strategy you can think of!

Link Monster Vocabulary!

Today marks the release of Starter Deck: Link Strike, and the start of the next era of Yu-Gi-Oh! Link Monsters are different than every type of monster before them, so they needed some specialized words and phrases to describe them, their effects, and the individual parts of the Link Monster cards. Before we get into that though, it’s highly recommend that you watch this video to learn about the updates to the official rules and the basics of how Link Monsters and Link Summoning work. Code of the Duelist: Go Crazy for Gouki

Code of the Duelist introduces Link Monsters to the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME, along with a new theme that can powerfully wield these new monsters. The Main Deck Gouki monsters in Code of the Duelist each have an effect that lets you add any Gouki card with a different name than its own from your Deck to your hand if it’s sent from the field to the Graveyard. That means any time you use one of your Gouki monsters to perform a Link Summon, its effect will activate to immediately replace it with a new card from your Deck. That includes the powerful new Spell Card, Gouki Re-Match.
