Starstrike Blast: Supreme Arcanite Magician

November 10th, 2010

Supreme Arcanite Magician is part of the newest batch of Fusion Monsters that you can Summon with Miracle Synchro Fusion. It has more ATK, more DEF, and more powers than the original Arcanite Magician. Supreme Arcanite Magician enters the field with 1400 ATK and 2 Spell Counters, each of which gives it a 1000 ATK boost. That means it has 3400 ATK from the start! You can also remove one of those Spell Counters, or another Spell Counter on your side of the field, to destroy a card or draw a card from your Deck. With 2800 DEF, Supreme Arcanite Magician can defend you from attacks, even after you run out of Spell Counters.

To Summon Supreme Arcanite Magician, you’ll need to fuse a Spellcaster-Type Synchro Monster with one of your other Spellcaster-Type monsters. You could use Polymerization or Super Polymerization to do this, but your best bet is usually to use Miracle Synchro Fusion, which lets you fuse the monsters on the field or in your Graveyard.

There are 3 Spellcaster-Type Synchro Monsters you can use to Fusion Summon Supreme Arcanite Magician: Explosive Magician, Tempest Magician, and Arcanite Magician. Since each of these Synchro Monsters requires a non-Tuner Spellcaster in order to Synchro Summon it, you’ll be ready to use Miracle Synchro Fusion as soon as you perform 1 Synchro Summon of a Spellcaster.

Use these Synchro Monsters in your Fusion Summon of Supreme Arcanite Magician.

Gravekeeper’s Spy and Gravekeeper’s Guard are great monsters to use as the non-Tuner when you Synchro Summon a Spellcaster-Type monster. They have high DEF, which lets them stay on the field after they use their Flip Effects. That makes them easy to use in a Synchro Summon.

You can use any Tuner, including Plaguespreader Zombie and Blackwing – Gale the Whirlwind, in the Synchro Summon of one of the Spellcaster-Type Synchro Monsters. Even if you use a non-Spellcaster Tuner, you’ll still have the monsters necessary to Summon Supreme Arcanite Magician with Miracle Synchro Fusion, right after you perform the Synchro Summon.

Once Supreme Arcanite Magician hits the field, you can start reaping the benefits of its effect. Since it only has 1400 ATK to start, it can’t be hit by Bottomless Trap Hole, even though it soon jumps to 3400 ATK when its 2 Spell Counters appear. Then you can draw or destroy 1 card each turn, until you run out of Spell Counters on your field.

A Spellcaster Deck may never run out of Spell Counters, thanks to cards like Magical Citadel of Endymion, so it can use Supreme Arcanite Magician more effectively than any other Deck. With such high ATK and DEF, it’ll be tough for your opponent to take down your Supreme Arcanite Magician before it wreaks havoc.

Even though it’s incredibly effective in Spellcaster Decks, Supreme Arcanite Magician may find its way into other Extra Decks too. Now that there are Fusion Monsters that can be created from many different types of Synchro Monsters, Miracle Synchro Fusion is more flexible than ever before, and may become hot tech in a bunch of different Decks. Any one of those Decks can use Supreme Arcanite Magician, as long as it runs at least 1 Spellcaster-Type monster.

Supreme Arcanite Magician is one of the strongest Spellcaster-Type monsters in the game. If you can harness its magic, you’ll be able to gain control of a Duel in no time!
