Metaion, the Timelord!

November 30th, 2011

Have you ever been in a Duel and wondered what it would have been like if all of your opponent’s monsters had never been Summoned? Wonder no more, as there’s a new monster in Photon Shockwave that can rewrite time to make it a reality! Read on to learn more about the temporal tyrant, Metaion, the Timelord!

I'm not sorry. I'm not sorry in the slightest.

Metaion, the Timelord is a Level 10 monster with 0 ATK and DEF. This might seem a little odd for such a high level monster, but his effects turn this card into an absolute powerhouse. Firstly, if you don’t have a monster, you can Normal Summon this card without a tribute. A high-level monster has never been as easy to play as this! You can get this card into action on the first turn, and if you’re going second, you can attack with it right away. It might seem reckless to attack with a 0 ATK monster, but Metaion’s effect more than makes up for his nonexistent attack power.

Metaion, the Timelord isn’t titled “the Timelord” for nothing; whenever Metaion battles, at the end of the Battle Phase, he returns every other monster on the field to the owner’s hand, and your opponent takes 300 damage for each one returned! Metaion reverses time back to before the monsters were even on the field, and dishes out some damage while he’s at it. This effect is amazing for sending big and hard-to-summon monsters back in time. Also, if you use this effect on a Synchro, Fusion, or Xyz Monster, it’ll return to the Extra Deck, giving you an easy way to defeat powerful Extra Deck monsters like Stardust Dragon and Naturia Beast.

Metaion is a great monster to use to control the Duel. It can’t be destroyed by battle or card effects, and you don’t take any damage when it battles. So even if you’re in a pinch you can use Metaion as a wall to protect yourself from damage for a turn. But because of Metaion’s time-travel effect, your opponent wouldn’t dare to attack you at all if Metaion is your only monster.

One of the coolest things about Metaion, the Timelord is that it can be an offensive or defensive card, depending on how the Duel is going. If your opponent has a lot of big monsters in play, Summon Metaion and clear their Field after you attack! Or if you feel like they’re going to make a big move, Summon Metaion because you know it can’t be destroyed and you can’t take damage through it.  Metaion gives you  a lot of options if it’s in your hand, and of course you don’t have to play it right away. You can save it for when you need it, and that’s why this card is so good.

Metaion, the Timelord revolutionizes the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME. It’s time-bending powers trump nearly every monster in the entire game. If you want to rewrite history at will during a Duel, make sure you pick this card up!
