Dododo Warrior
It’s no secret why Abyss Dweller is such a popular card. There are tons of effects out there that activate in the Graveyard, and Abyss Dweller can stop them from activating twice. But what if you want that power, but don’t want to use 2 Level 4 monsters to get it? Then you want Dododo Warrior!
Dododo Warrior is Level 6, but you can Normal Summon it without a Tribute. If you do, it drops from 2300 ATK to a still potent 1800. No matter how you Summon him, Dododo Warrior comes ready to disrupt any of your opponent’s plans. When Dododo Warrior attacks, until the end of the Damage Step, any and all effects that activate in your opponent’s Graveyard are negated!
Against most Decks, you’re going to get some mileage out of this kind of effect. Dododo Warrior can prevent a lot of shenanigans by taking down popular monsters in battle. Mermail Abysslinde? Nuh uh. Card Trooper? No free cards, only massive damage. Reborn Tengu? Better hope you don’t draw the other one.
Dododo Warrior gets even better when coupled with Quick-Play and Trap based destruction effects, too! Since Dododo negates everything in the Graveyard until the end of the Damage Step, you can do some nifty tricks. Let’s say your opponent has Geartown on the field. You can attack with Dododo Warrior, then safely destroy Geartown with Mystical Space Typhoon during the Battle Step! Even if you don’t have a power-up to make Dododo Warrior strong enough to beat Lightpulsar Dragon, you can still use a Trap while you’re attacking to make sure it can’t revive anything dangerious.
Dododo Warrior’s awesome abilities are reason enough to use him, but let’s not overlook another important facet of the card: Dododo Warrior is a Level 6 monster that you can just Normal Summon for no cost! If you’re looking to make some Rank 6 Xyz Summons or Level 7 and 8 Synchro Summons, Dododo Warrior is definitely a card to be checking out.
