Giving Other Decks a Blue-Eyes Boost
Earlier this week, we talked about some of the cool cards and combos that you can use in a Deck dedicated to the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. To finish the week off, we’re taking a different approach to Deck building. Instead of building a Deck around the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, we’ll talk about some other Decks that you can jazz up by giving them a Blue-Eyes Boost!
Here are just a few Decks to which you can add a Blue-Eyes White Dragon subtheme:
1.) Prophecy Decks
Prophecy Decks are all about enhancing the power of their Spellcasters with Spell Cards. That’s why Maiden with Eyes of Blue is a natural fit into the Deck. Whenever Maiden with Eyes of Blue is targeted by a Spell Card, you can Special Summon a Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Prophecy Decks typically run several copies of cards that can target Spellcasters like Maiden with Eyes of Blue, including Spellbook of Power (which targets a Spellcaster to give it 1000 ATK), and Spellbook of Wisdom (which targets a Spellcaster to make it unaffected by Spell or Trap Cards).
Throw a couple copies of Maiden with Eyes of Blue and Blue-Eyes White Dragon into your Prophecy Deck, and you’ll catch your opponents off guard with the Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
2.) Hieratic Decks
Hieratic Decks constantly Summon Normal Dragons. In fact, lots of Hieratic Dragons Special Summon Normal Dragons whenever they’re Tributed. As a Normal Monster with a whopping 3000 Attack Points, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon seems like an obvious fit in Hieratic Decks.
Blue-Eyes White Dragon is a Level 8 monster, so you can Xyz Summon a Rank 8 monster like Hieratic Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis or Thunder End Dragon by Special Summoning a pair of Dragons with Hieratic effects. And even though the Hieratic Dragons reduce the ATK and DEF of the Normal Dragons they Summon to 0, if your Special Summoned Blue-Eyes White Dragons are destroyed, Tributed, or detached and then revived with Silver’s Cry or Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon they’ll be Special Summoned with their full 3000 ATK!
3.) Chaos Dragon Decks
Chaos Dragon Decks use lots of LIGHT and DARK monsters that can be banished from the Graveyard to Special Summon Chaos Sorcerer, Lightpulsar Dragon, Darkflare Dragon, and Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning. They also run lots of big Dragons that they can Special Summon with the effect of Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon. Blue-Eyes White Dragon is a 3000 ATK LIGHT monster, so it fits in perfectly with the Chaos Dragon strategy.
4.) Ritual Decks
Advanced Ritual Art has been a key card for years for performing Ritual Summons. One of the most popular Ritual Monsters that Duelists Summon with Advanced Ritual Art is the Level 8 Demise, King of Armageddon. But to Summon Demise, King of Armageddon with Advanced Ritual Art, you’ll need to send Normal Monsters from your Deck to your Graveyard whose total Levels equal 8. By sending a copy of Blue-Eyes White Dragon from your Deck to your Graveyard with Advanced Ritual Art, you’ll immediately be able to Special Summon Demise, King of Armageddon from your hand. And once your Blue-Eyes White Dragon is in your Graveyard, you’ll be able to Special Summon it with cards like Silver’s Cry.
The Blue-Eyes White Dragon is one of the most beloved cards in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME. Duel with style by adding a powerful Blue-Eyes engine of destruction to your Deck!
