Get Connected to the Heart of the Cards!

December 17th, 2013

Do you have what it takes to beat Yugi’s greatest rival? Seto Kaiba is no pushover, and neither is his Starter Deck: Kaiba Reloaded. But with a couple of tweaks to your Starter Deck: Yugi Reloaded, you can tap into the heart of the cards and prove to the world that Yugi is the true “King of Games.”

DarkMagician
Starter Deck: Yugi Reloaded is packed with an assortment of Spells, Traps, and Monsters for taking down opponents. If you tweak your Deck to focus in on some of the specific strategies that Starter Deck: Yugi Reloaded has to offer, you can improve your chances of beating Kaiba. Here are a couple of the strategies that you can expand upon.

1.)    The Dark Magician Strategy

Starter Deck: Yugi Reloaded contains two copies of Yugi’s signature card. It also includes a variety of cards that work alongside the Dark Magician.

First off, there are lots of cards that make it easy to Summon the Dark Magician. The Skilled Dark Magician, for example, gains a Spell Counter every time a Spell Card is activated. Once it gains 3 Spell Counters, you can Tribute it to Summon a Dark Magician from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard. Each Starter Deck: Yugi Reloaded includes 2 copies of the Skilled Dark Magician, but by adding an additional copy to your Deck, you can make it even easier to Summon the Dark Magician.

Secondly, there are lots of cards that thrive off of the Dark Magician’s power. The Dark Magician Girl, for instance, gains 300 ATK for every Dark Magician in the Graveyard. The Dark Magic Attack and Thousand Knives Spell Cards are powerful Spell Cards that can only be activated while the Dark Magician is on your field. Dark Magic Attack obliterates all of an opponent’s Spell & Trap Cards, while Thousand Knives wipes out an opponent’s monster.

If you’re tweaking your Deck to Summon the Dark Magician as quickly as possible, you may want to add Sage’s Stone and Dark Magic Curtain to your Deck. You can activate Sage’s Stone to Special Summon a Dark Magician from your hand or Deck while you control the Dark Magician Girl. Dark Magic Curtain lets you Special Summon a Dark Magician from your Deck simply by paying half of your Life Points. You can find Sage’s Stone and Dark Magic Curtain in Mega-Packs from Legendary Collection 3: Yugi’s World.

2.)    The Swordsman Strategy

Instead of focusing your strategy on the Dark Magician, you can focus on winning with Yugi’s Warriors. Each Starter Deck: Yugi Reloaded contains one copy of Buster Blader, and 2 copies of Skilled White Magician to help Summon it. Like the Skilled Dark Magician, the Skilled White Magician gains a Spell Counter each time a Spell Card is activated; but unlike the Skilled Dark Magician, you can Tribute the Skilled White Magician with 3 Spell Counters to Special Summon Buster Blader. Buster Blader is the perfect card for taking down Kaiba’s Dragons, since it gains 500 ATK for each Dragon on your opponent’s field or in your opponent’s Graveyard.

Starter Deck: Yugi Reloaded also contains 2 copies of Silent Swordsman LV3 and a Silent Swordsman LV5. If you want to upgrade your Swordsman to its ultimate form, you can add Silent Swordsman LV7 to your Deck, along with a few more lower-Level Swordsmen to make it easier to Summon. Each Silent Swordsman disrupts opponents’ Spell Cards, making it tough to destroy.

Starter Deck: Yugi Reloaded contains a total of 50 cards, so you can focus in on one strategy simply by cutting cards from your Deck. A Deck in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME must include at least 40 cards. The fewer cards you use in your Deck, the more likely you are to draw the cards you’ve included. Slimming your Deck will not only help you achieve your core strategy, but it will also help you draw your most powerful Spell and Trap Cards, like Dark Hole and Mirror Force.

After making a couple of tweaks to your Starter Deck: Yugi Reloaded, you’ll be beating rival Starter Deck: Kaiba Reloaded Decks in no time!
