Shining Victories: Please Welcome Your New Overlord
The battle between LIGHT and DARK continues as the Dracoslayers try to vanquish the Dracoverlords, however a new foe has appeared! Much like how Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer uncovered the secrets of Dragon Alchemy on his journey to become Master Pendulum, the Dracoslayer, the evil Vector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord has become stronger as well. Vector Pendulum has become so powerful that his Pendulum Scales have increased and now has enough ATK to match the Master Pendulum, thus becoming Lector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord!
While a higher Pendulum Scale might seem like something to scoff at, this is far from the case. Draco Face-Off is the most powerful tool the Dracos have in their arsenal, accelerating them to Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer with the added bonus of a Dracoverlord. When you needed to search specifically a low Pendulum Scale, you could pit Master Pendulum, the Dracoslayer against Vector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord instead, guaranteeing a Pendulum Scale of 3. However, when you desperately needed a higher Pendulum Scale, you had to put your faith in the LIGHT and hope that Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer would best the Dracoverlord so you could choose to put it in your Pendulum Zone. Now with Lector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord at the ready, you can select both a Dracoslayer and a Dracoverlord with a Pendulum Scale of 5!
Lector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord also boasts two effects that will definitely come up a lot. Firstly, its Pendulum Effect negates the effects of face-up Pendulum Monsters your opponent controls. The mighty Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer is known for his powerful effect to destroy your own cards in order to find more Performapals, but if Lecter Pendulum, the Dracoverlord is in your Pendulum Zone, then the Sorcerer’s magic will be no more. Majespecters also have a ton of relevant Pendulum Monsters whose effects they rely on heavily, such as Majespecter Raccoon – Bunbuku and Majespecter Unicorn – Kirin. If Skill Drain has taught us anything, it’s that negating effects is very powerful, and Lector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord can render even the most powerful Pendulum Monsters useless.
If negating effects wasn’t enough, Lector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord can also trade with any Pendulum Monster it may face in battle. Whenever Lector Pendulum battles an opposing Pendulum Monster, it will destroy both at the start of the Damage Step. This effect is much more of a double-edged sword than the previous one however, because while this will allow Lector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord to defeat much stronger Pendulum Monsters, it also means that it will fall to the weaker ones. This isn’t the biggest deal though because you can always just Pendulum Summon Lector Pendulum back to the field! So you can do things like clear an opposing problematic Pendulum Monster, then Pendulum Summon in Main Phase 2 to recur your Lector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord.
Lector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord along with its evil army of Amorphages make their appearance in Shining Victories which hits shelves on May 6th! Will the terrible power of the Dracoverlords and the Amorphages best the Dracoslayers? Or will the Dracoslayers defeat the darkness in their own shining victory? Only time will tell!
