There’s a new “Chaos” monster coming to the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME in Soul Fusion!

Chaos Dragon Levianeer is a Level 8 DARK Dragon with 3000 ATK and 0 DEF. You can Special Summon it from your hand by banishing a combination of 3 LIGHT and/or DARK monsters from your Graveyard. Chaos Dragon Levianeer has 3 different effects that can activate when it’s Summoned, and which effect will activate depends on which cards are banished from the Graveyard to Summon it.

Here are the three possible effects:

• If you banish only LIGHT monsters to Summon Chaos Dragon Levianeer, you can Special Summon any monster from your Graveyard in Defense Position.
• If you banish only DARK monsters to Summon Chaos Dragon Levianeer, you can shuffle a random card from your opponent’s hand into his or her Deck.
• If you banish both LIGHT and DARK monsters to Summon Chaos Dragon Levianeer, you can destroy up to 2 cards on the field.

You can only use the effect of Levianeer once per turn, and Levianeer can’t attack during the turn it uses one of those effects.

Each of these three effects are useful in different situations. Special Summoning a monster from your Graveyard is useful when you’re trying to build a field; returning a card from your opponent’s hand to his or her Deck is useful for disrupting your opponent’s strategy when your opponent is relying on the cards in his or her hand; and destroying two cards is a powerful play when your opponent has committed his or her strongest cards to the field.

Chaos Dragon Levianeer can be used in a Deck that uses LIGHT monsters, DARK monsters, or both Attributes of monsters, including Lightsworn (or Twilightsworn) Decks, Blue-Eyes Decks, Burning Abyss Decks, Danger! Decks, Dark World Decks, and Lair of Darkness Decks. But it’s best in Decks that use a combination of LIGHT and DARK Monsters. That way, a Duelist wielding Chaos Dragon Levianeer will have access to all three of its effects, and will be able to decide which effect to use by banishing cards of specific Attributes from the Graveyard to Summon it.

There are a few things about Chaos Dragon Levianeer that make it even stronger than you might realize at first glance.

First, since Chaos Dragon Levianeer is a DARK monster with 0 DEF, you can use Recurring Nightmare to return it from your Graveyard to your hand.

Recurring Nightmare also works with Danger! Bigfoot!; Snoww, Unlight of Dark World; Lucent, Netherlord of Dark Lord; and Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon, all of which have 0 DEF, and all of which are DARK monsters that have synergy with Chaos Dragon Levianeer. You can use Chaos Dragon Levianeer effectively in a Deck with any of those cards.

Second, since Chaos Dragon Levianeer is a Dragon that has 3000 ATK and less than 2500 DEF, you can add it to your hand from your Deck with The Melody of Awakening Dragon.

Discarding a LIGHT or DARK monster from your hand to activate The Melody of Awakening Dragon will also give you another monster to banish from your Graveyard. That’ll make it easier to Summon Chaos Dragon Levianeer from your hand.
