Dark Neostorm: Deeper into the Abyss
The darkness deepens in Dark Neostorm! Burning Abyss monsters have been popular ever since their original release in Duelist Alliance back in 2014, and continued support has allowed the Burning Abyss theme to continuously remain relevant at the highest levels of competitive Dueling. Now, a new Burning Abyss Link Monster delivers the Burning Abyss theme into the VRAINS era! Take a look at Cherubini, Ebon Angel of the Burning Abyss!
Cherubini, Ebon Angel of the Burning Abyss is an easy-to-Summon DARK Link 2 monster that uses 2 Level 3 monsters as Link Materials. Since Burning Abyss Effect Monsters are all Level 3 monsters, you can send any 2 of them to the Graveyard to Link Summon Cherubini. Cherubini’s Link Arrows point to the bottom-left and bottom-right. These Link Arrows let Cherubini enable stronger plays while it’s in an Extra Monster Zone. But Cherubini’s effects are what really make it stand out.
First, monsters that Cherubini points to can’t be destroyed by card effects. Not only will this protect those monsters from destructive effects that an opponent uses, like the effects of Sky Striker Maneuver – Afterburners! and Salamangreat Rage, but it’ll also protect those monsters from your own effects that would destroy them. Burning Abyss monsters tend to destroy themselves whenever there’s a non-Burning Abyss monster on the same side of the field; but as long as that monster is linked to Cherubini, that monster is safe from the destruction that would otherwise be caused by its own effect.
Second, if Cherubini would be destroyed by battle or by an opponent’s card effect, you can send 1 other card you control to the Graveyard instead. This effect will help you keep Cherubini on the field for as long as possible.
Finally, Cherubini’s last effect lets you send a Level 3 monster from your Deck to your Graveyard and then target a Burning Abyss monster on the field. The targeted monster gains ATK and DEF equal to the ATK and DEF of the monster sent to the Graveyard until the end of the turn. This effect of Cherubini can only be used once per turn, but it’s incredibly powerful. It allows you to consistently send a monster from your Deck to the Graveyard to activate that monster’s effect.
Does your opponent have a monster you need to banish from the field? Send Farfa, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss from your Deck to your Graveyard.
Does your opponent have 900 or fewer Life Points remaining? Send Barbar, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss from your Deck to your Graveyard and end the Duel.
Are you looking to Special Summon a Burning Abyss monster from your Deck? Send Graff, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss from your Deck to your Graveyard.
Are you trying to Special Summon a Burning Abyss monster from your Graveyard? Send Cir, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss from your Deck to your Graveyard. You can even use Cir’s effect to Special Summon another copy of Cherubini from your Graveyard to facilitate a new Link Summon.
Do you want to add a monster from your Deck to your hand in the End Phase? Send Scarm, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss from your Deck to your Graveyard.
Cherubini, Ebon Angel of the Burning Abyss gives you access to whichever effect you need, whenever you need it. Plus, it’ll increase the ATK and DEF a Burning Abyss monster on your field – including itself – along the way.
Cherubini doesn’t just send Burning Abyss monsters to the Graveyard, either. You can also use its effect to send other Level 3 monsters from your Deck to your Graveyard, including The Phantom Knights of Ancient Cloak, The Phantom Knights of Ragged Gloves, The Phantom Knights of Silent Boots, or even Salamangreat Spinny. Once they’re in your Graveyard, you can use their effects.
Cherubini will revolutionize the way Burning Abyss Decks are played. You can get your hands on Cherubini at the Dark Neostorm Sneak Peek on April 27th and 28th!
