The Transformation

October 31st, 2013

It’s been a year and a half since the epic story of the Noble Knights began with the debut of Noble Knight Artorigus in Galactic Overlord.  He became Artorigus, King of the Noble Knights with a little help from his friends in Cosmo Blazer. But is that the best he’s capable of being? What lies ahead for the Noble Knights?

All possible futures can be seen through Noble Arms – Excaliburn. Judgment of the Light’s Bujin monsters were very popular from the get-go. Between Bujin Yamato’s ability to fix your hand and Graveyard to your liking, his immortal form’s, that is Bujintei Susanowo’s, ability to do the same and attack all of your opponent’s monsters each turn, and the multitude of useful Bujingis, plenty of Duelists cast their lots with the all-LIGHT monster strategy. And now those Duelists are about to be rewarded with a massive second wave of cool Bujin cards in Shadow Specters! Read more…

What a Knight!

October 28th, 2013

It takes a lot of effort to Xyz Summon a Rank 8 monster, so it’s only fitting that they come with some pretty amazing effects. You can destroy cards en masse with Hieratic Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis, pick off monsters and inflict damage with Number 15: Gimmick Puppet Giant Grinder, or just crush your opponent with a suite of nasty effects with Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon! These monsters are all great, but they all share one downside: all of them can be taken out before they get a chance to do anything.

Of course, the same can be said of pretty much every monster in all of Dueling, so when a monster comes along that can’t simply be disposed of immediately, it’s time to take notice! Divine Dragon Knight Felgrand, come on down! Read more…

Pot of Dichotomy

October 25th, 2013

Options win Duels; the more options you have, the easier it is to outplay your opponent.  The more cards you see the faster you’ll put together your combos and your key moves, so anything that lets you draw cards or search your Deck can be really powerful.  Two of the top strategies today are defined by their draw and search power: Dragon Rulers have built-in search effects and powerful draw Spells, stuff like Cards of Consonance and Sacred Sword of Seven Stars.  Spellbooks have the incredible search power of Spellbook of Secrets and Spellbook Magician of Prophecy, and rake in an extra draw every turn thanks to The Grand Spellbook Tower.

And now Shadow Specters evens the odds!  Pot of Dichotomy’s a powerful draw spell, not for Dragons or Spellcasters but for the other guys –themes that run all sorts of monster Types, or even non-themed strategies you came up with on your own.  Check it out! Read more…
