Starstrike Blast: Supreme Arcanite Magician

November 10th, 2010

Supreme Arcanite Magician is part of the newest batch of Fusion Monsters that you can Summon with Miracle Synchro Fusion. It has more ATK, more DEF, and more powers than the original Arcanite Magician. Supreme Arcanite Magician enters the field with 1400 ATK and 2 Spell Counters, each of which gives it a 1000 ATK boost. That means it has 3400 ATK from the start! You can also remove one of those Spell Counters, or another Spell Counter on your side of the field, to destroy a card or draw a card from your Deck. With 2800 DEF, Supreme Arcanite Magician can defend you from attacks, even after you run out of Spell Counters.

Starstrike Blast: Scrap Twin Dragon and Scrap Searcher

November 9th, 2010

Last week, we introduced you to an all-new “Scrap” Tuner from Starstrike Blast: Scrap Mind Reader.  Today, we’ll show you 2 awesome new “Scrap” monsters to play it with. One is a massive Level 9 Synchro Monster, while the other is a clever combo card.  First up, check out the new biggest hitter in the Scrap arsenal – Scrap Twin Dragon!

Once per turn, you can select 1 card you control and 2 cards your opponent controls. Destroy the one you control and return the two your opponent controls to the hand. When this card is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to the Graveyard, select 1 non-Synchro "Scrap" monster in your Graveyard, and Special Summon it.

November 5th, 2010

Gravekeeper cards originally come from Pharonic Guardian, a booster pack from 2003! Ever since then cards like Gravekeeper’s Spy, Gravekeeper’s Guard and Necrovalley have become firm favorites of Duelists and made their way into several top Decks throughout the history of the game. Experienced Duelists have fond memories of these cards, and if you’re new to the game you can meet them for the first time in Structure Deck: Marik. So what better way is there to celebrate the return of the Gravekeepers with than with an all-new Gravekeeper that makes them better than ever before?

Starstrike Blast Preview: Spellstone Sorcerer Karood and Powersink Stone

November 4th, 2010

Spellstone Sorcerer Karood gives Spellcaster Duelists a new way to disrupt Graveyard based combos. Whenever a monster other than Karood activates its effect, Karood gets a Spellstone Counter (it can only have 1 on it at a time) and its DEF goes up to 2200. Also, once per turn you can remove a Spellstone Counter from your side of the field to remove 1 of your opponent’s cards in their Graveyard from play. If you’re playing against Plant Synchro  or Quickdraw Dandywarrior you’ll want to get rid of Dandylion, Infernities don’t want to see their Infernity Archfiends get removed, and Monarch Decks have a difficult time doing anything if they don’t have a Treeborn Frog in the Graveyard.

Karood can get rid of your opponent’s combo pieces.

Skull Meister & Droll & Lock Bird VS The World

November 3rd, 2010

Monster effects that activate from the hand have been around for a long time now, and the majority of them have seen lots of action at the top tables of big events. In 2008 we were introduced to Honest and D.D. Crow, 2 cards whose effects are still incredibly useful today. In recent times there has been Blackwing – Kalut the Moon Shadow, and the increasingly popular Effect Veiler from Duelist Revolution. With Starstrike Blast on the horizon, we’ll soon be adding 2 more cards to that list, and we’re going to take a first look at them today!

Let's see you search those combo pieces now!
