EXVC Preview: Safe Summoning

April 20th, 2011

Whether or not to Tribute Summon can be one of the toughest decisions to make in Dueling. Sometimes you’ll have a really good monster on the field, but you have another really good monster in your hand that has to be Tribute Summoned. The trouble is that it could be really bad if you Tribute Summoned and your Level 5 or higher monster was immediately blasted by Torrential Tribute or Mirror Force or taken down by a Synchro Monster.

Hidden Arsenal Special Edition Details Announced!!

April 13th, 2011

Published alongside the regular 100-card booster sets, 60-card Hidden Arsenal sets are entirely made of foil cards, and most are entirely made up of Monster Cards! Hidden Arsenal booster sets have also brought us some of the most exciting monsters and Decks that we’ve ever seen, including X-Sabers, Naturia, and Ice Barrier monsters.

Now Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. is pleased to confirm a July 26 release date for Hidden Arsenal Special Edition.

Hidden Arsenal sets work great together because the monsters from each monster group are spread across the different sets. When you pick up Hidden Arsenal Special Edition you’ll get 1 pack each of Hidden Arsenal, Hidden Arsenal 2, and Hidden Arsenal 3, plus 1 of 2 special variant cards! Because of the way Hidden Arsenal sets are built, you can easily combine these 3 packs to build groupings of similar monsters.

Each box of Hidden Arsenal Special Edition will include dozens of monsters from Decks like X-Sabers, Dragunity, Naturia, Ice Barrier, Fabled, Allies of Justice, Genex, Worms, and more. You’ll find it very easy to mix and match these monsters together, trade with your friends, and make a fun Deck that’s focused like a laser on the specific monster group YOU want. Read more…

EXVC Preview: If you can dodge a Trap…

April 13th, 2011

There was once a time when no one played Counter Traps. Every Spell, Trap, and Summon went through unopposed and the key to victory was to carry the biggest monster you could feasibly Summon, or Yata-Garasu. Now, everyone runs Counter Traps. Whether it’s Solemn Judgment, Solemn Warning, Seven Tools of the Bandit, Infernity Barrier, Musakani Magatama, or even Magic Drain, almost every Duelist has to care about his opponent’s capacity to counter his moves.

The only Duelists who don’t need to worry, are the ones using Dodger Dragon.
