Big changes are coming to booster packs, starting with Breakers of Shadow in January 2016.
We’ve made adjustments to boosters every few years. The last change was in 2010 when we increased your odds of getting a Secret Rare from a pack. But the changes coming next year are bigger than all the other changes we’ve ever made, put together!
Starting with Breakers of Shadow, we are upping the amount of foils you’ll get in our standard, 9-card booster packs:
1. There will be a foil card in every pack (either a Super, Ultra, or Secret Rare).
2. We’re DOUBLING the insert rate of Ultra Rares. Instead of 1-in-12 packs, Ultra Rares will now come in roughly 1-in-6 packs.
3. We’re (almost) DOUBLING the insert rate of Secret Rares. Instead of 1-in-23 packs, Secret Rares will now come in roughly 1-in-12 packs. Read more…

Today we’re announcing some more info on a couple of cool items coming out later this year: Legendary Collection 5D’s and the Noble Knights of the Round Table Box Set. So this seems like a good time to catch our breath and go over some of the stuff you’ll be seeing the rest of this year. Let’s take them in order:
It’s the holiday season, a time of year when everyone seems to be busy! There’s a lot going on in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG right now, from a ton of cool new stuff you can find out about here, to the new Forbidden & Limited List which takes effect on January 1.
But in addition to all of that, I wanted to let everyone know about a couple of cool new projects we’ll be coming out with next Spring.
These have been under wraps for a while, but we’re excited to finally start talking about them. Both sets are still under development, but the working title of each is Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG: PREMIUM GOLD* and Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG: DRAGONS OF LEGEND*. (Again, these are the working titles. Don’t be surprised if the final set’s name is different!)
Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG: PREMIUM GOLD*
Premium Gold* includes some of the greatest hits from the old Gold Series sets, adds a ton of new cards, and introduces the new GOLD SECRET card rarity!
You may have heard some murmurs about Gear Gigant X being back in a big way over the past week, and it’s true! Samuel Pedigo took first place at the 125th YCS in Turin using his Geargia Deck, powered by everyone’s favourite shades-wearing giant robot Xyz Monster! Here’s why it’s so darn good.
