Round 6 Feature Match: Carlos Talamantes vs. Richard Barnett

Carlos Talamantes is here from Stockton, playing a unique HERO Deck. He’s packing Mask Change, T.G. Striker and other Warriors that Special Summon, Miracle Fusion, and more. It’s a mix of all the best things HERO cards can do, and it can combo into Masked HERO Dark Law or Topologic Gumblar Dragon with ease. His opponent is Richard Barnett, from Los Angeles, playing Gouki. The Gouki Deck can struggle against Dark Law – will Barnett have an answer?

Round 5 Feature Match: Brian Ramirez vs. Connor Farmer

Brian Ramirez from Moreno Valley, California and Connor Farmer from San Diego, California are both currently 4-0 in the tournament, and both using Decks that have less representation in the tournament than lots of other Decks. Ramirez is using a Cyber Dragon, while Farmer is using Altergeists. Ramirez’s Deck specializes in taking down Decks reliant on Summoning from the Extra Deck thanks to its easy access to Chimeratech Megafleet Dragon, while Farmer’s Deck is less reliant than most of the tournament-popular Decks on Summoning monsters from the Extra Deck. That could make this a tough Match for Ramirez. Nevertheless, a victory in this Swiss Round will make one of these Duelists 5-0 in the tournament, and both players will be Dueling their hardest to secure that record. It’s time to Duel!

Round 4 Feature Match: Yishan McNabb vs. Jonathon Castillo

Yishan McNabb is back again! This Duelist from Alameda is a bit famous for his Feature Match a year ago, where he used his Gren Maju Da Eiza Deck, capable of throwing out some crazy amounts of damage thanks to Pot of Desires and Eater of Millions boosting his signature monster. His opponent is a Santa Ana Duelist, Jonathon Castillo. Castillo’s using the Danger! Dark World FTK strategy, looking to put together a combo to allow him to loop the effect of Cannon Soldier repeatedly for the win.

Round 3 Feature Match: Aaron Furman vs. Surya Kamaraguru

Philadephia’s Aaron Furman is a VIP Duelist in this weekend’s YCS, since he won the Ultimate Duelist Series – Invitational in Chicago back in 2016. That victory entitled him to 2 “Byes” in every YCS event, which means he started off this tournament with 2 free wins. Now he’s sitting down for his first Match of the tournament with a 2-0 record, and about to face off against California’s Surya Kumaraguru and his explosive True King Dinosaur Deck! Furman is using a DARK Gouki Deck that aims to take a quick victory. One of these Duelists will advance with a perfect 3-0 record. It’s time to Duel!

Round 2 Feature Match: Manav Dawar vs. Timothy Flores

Welcome to Round 2 of YCS Pasadena! We’ve got YCS Champion Manav Dawar, from Seattle, playing a Sky Striker Deck. He’s facing off against Timothy Flores from La Habra, using the master of the Destruction Sword himself, Buster Blader! Flores’s build is a Buster Sky Striker mixed strategy, so there will be some unique interactions between these Duelists.

Round 1 Feature Match: Jon Paredes vs. Tevin Collins

Hidden Summoners is out in full force in this Round 1 Feature Match for YCS Pasadena! Jon Paredes from Fontana, California and Tevin Collins from Wilwaukee, Wisconsin are both using Decks featuring the new Prank-Kids theme from Hidden Summoners. Both Duelists combined this brand-new theme with an older one, attempting to improve on the power of already-popular Decks. Paredes combined the new Prank-Kids cards with the Thunder Dragon cards from Soul Fusion, while Collins combined the Prank-Kids with Sky Strikers. Now they’re facing off in a Match that will determine which Duelist advances with a 1-0 record, and which Duelist suffers a Round 1 defeat. It’s time to Duel!

Round 1 Feature Match: Luis Castro vs. Jaime Sandoval

Welcome to Round 1 of YCS Pasadena! We’re starting off with Luis Castro, from El Monte, playing a combination HERO Prank-Kids Deck! He said he was playing a HERO Deck in memory of Stan Lee – a true believer through and through. He’s up against Jaime Sandoval, from Long Beach. Sandoval’s using True Draco, a strategy that traditionally plays a lot of powerful floodgate cards like Gozen Match, which could give him an edge in this matchup.
