Organized Play Update: The World Championships!

On August 10th and 11th we’ll see a true first for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME, as Championship-level Dueling heads to the Entertainment Capital Of The World for the first time ever – Las Vegas, Nevada!  The Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2013 will see 27 of the planet’s greatest Duelists duke it out for the title of World Champion in the main event, while 18 of the best youth Duelists in the world compete for the Dragon Duel Championship.

Spectators are welcome to witness Dueling history as the Championships play out in the Grand Ballroom of Bally’s Las Vegas, and Day 2 of the competition will be live streamed to fans across the globe!   Read more…

Organized Play Update: YCS Dragon Duel Championships

Day 1 and Day 2 at YCS weekends each feature a Dragon Duel tournament.  But sometimes the Duelist who wins the Saturday Dragon Duel competes on Sunday as well, creating a discouraging environment for some competitors.  The Dragon Duel Championships make that more manageable, while escalating competition and bringing more prizes to the Dragon Duel program.

Organized Play Update: Yu-Gi-Oh! Day!

Picture 2July 27th is Yu-Gi-Oh! Day in North America, Central America, and Latin America!  An international day to celebrate everything Yu-Gi-Oh, these events will take place at all Official Tournament Stores.  Experienced competitors will get a chance to compete in an Advanced Format Swiss tournament, competing for an exclusive Yu-Gi-Oh! Day prize mat you won’t find anywhere else.  For newbies and aspiring Duelists, many Yu-Gi-Oh! Day venues will also offer free demo sessions with veteran volunteers, to teach kids, parents, and new players how to Duel.  Attendees demoing the game will be entered into a raffle awarding one new player a game mat. It’s a great chance for local Duelists to meet and compete, and a huge opportunity for players just getting into the game.

Organized Play Update: Official Tournament Store Championships!

With the 2012-2013 WCQ Season over as of this weekend, Konami Digital Entertainment will be introducing four new Organized Play (OP) programs and special events!  In the coming months you’re going to see a new local-level Championship series; monthly tournaments with special prizes and demos for new players; a brand new Dragon Duel Championship series; and a whole lotta cool stuff going down for Duel-fans spectating the World Championships at Bally’s Las Vegas!
