Out of all of our talented Dragon Duelists, only four remain! There are three invitations available to the World Championship, so a victory here will guarantee them an invite. The losing Duelist here will still have a shot, but they’ll have to win the playoff for 3rd place. But that’s later, this is now! We have Ian Parish, from Arnold, Missouri, against John Wilkin from Toronto, Ontario. Parish has come this far thanks to his Burning Abyss Deck, with the added power of Phantom Knights and Speedroids to make a lot of strong Xyz plays possible. Wilkin is using Monarchs, specifically the more popular version that uses Brilliant Fusion and a full Extra Deck.

Both Aiden Tiemann and Connor Perrotta have Dueled their hearts out to make it this far. The winner of this match will guarantee their invite to the Dragon Duel World Championship in Orlando, Florida; the other will need to win his 3rd/4th place play-off match to get his invitation. Twelve year old Aiden Tiemann traveled from Austin, Texas this weekend, and has brought Performapals to the tournament. The premier Pendulum strategy, Performapals focus on strong combos and powerful Rank 4 plays to overwhelm the opponent. Welcome to Round 8, the final round of Swiss play for today. We have two Monarch Duelists here, but with wildly different strategies! Timothy Justise Reed, from Phoenix, Arizona, is using a mostly standard build, but is using Droll & Lock Bird in the Main Deck! He can use it to shut down many opposing card effects, and it can even combo with Artifact Durendal to rob them of their entire hand! Tyler Ashlock, from Benton, Arkansas, is using a mixed Monarch and Burning Abyss Deck. He uses Dante, Traveler of the Burning Abyss to send cards like Erebus the Underworld Monarch, The Prime Monarch, and Pantheism of the Monarchs to the Graveyard. Each Duelist has two losses so far, so they’ll need to win if they want a shot at making the cut to Top 64 tomorrow!
