The Dragon Duel Champion of the North American 2016 World Championship Qualifier has been crowned!
The Finals might be going on, but the stakes are just as high right here, for the 3rd and 4th place playoff of the Dragon Duel North American WCQ! The winner here will qualify to play in the World Championship! It’s Ian Parish, from Arnold, MO, up against Connor Perrotta from Lee, NY. Both Dragon Duelists are using Burning Abyss Decks. Parish is using the most common variant lately, packed with Phantom Knights. Perrotta decided to forego the Phantom Knights, giving him more space to use cards like Fiendish Rhino Warrior, Horn of Heaven, and Mask Change II.
One round of single-elimination is done! 32 fearless Duelists are ready to compete in another round of single-elimination!
One round of single-elimination is complete, which leaves us with the Top 32 Duelists. Here are the Top 32 Duelists of the 2016 North American WCQ!
Out of all of our talented Dragon Duelists, only four remain! There are three invitations available to the World Championship, so a victory here will guarantee them an invite. The losing Duelist here will still have a shot, but they’ll have to win the playoff for 3rd place. But that’s later, this is now! We have Ian Parish, from Arnold, Missouri, against John Wilkin from Toronto, Ontario. Parish has come this far thanks to his Burning Abyss Deck, with the added power of Phantom Knights and Speedroids to make a lot of strong Xyz plays possible. Wilkin is using Monarchs, specifically the more popular version that uses Brilliant Fusion and a full Extra Deck.
