We’re in Round 5 and we have an Altergeist Duelist who’s undefeated! Rami Ogando from Rhode Island got his invite from a Regional Qualifier from the Catskills, NY and he’s facing off against the 2015 North American WCQ Champion Noah Greene from Atlanta, Georgia who got his invite this year from topping YCS Atlanta. Just like in 2015, Greene has a Burning Abyss Deck for the WCQ, with this one concentrating on almost all monsters with the only Spells in the Deck are Sekka’s Light, a powerful Spell that lets you draw 2 cards but prevents you from activating any other Spell and Trap cards with different names after it resolves. They’re both undefeated but only one of them will keep that streak intact. It’s time to Duel!

Vanden Heuvel is using a Gouki Deck that features Living Fossil from Battles of Legend: Relentless Revenge, to be used in conjunction with Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights.

Welcome to the North America World Championship Qualifier! We have 1793 Duelists vying for the title of 2018 North America Champion and trying to punch their ticket to the 2018 Yu-Gi-Oh TRADING CARD GAME World Championship! Our Round 1 Feature Match is Dustin Allen Odgen from Tulsa, Oklahoma who qualified for the tournament by placing 1st in Last Chance Qualifiers #34 with a Deck featuring Dinosaurs – which we haven’t seen a ton of since the last Forbidden and Limited List update that sent That Grass Looks Greener onto the Forbidden List – with Mekk-Knights, which we usually see paired with Invoked monsters. This is an interesting twist to a tried and tested strategy which gave him 4 wins yesterday! His opponent is Louis LaQuerre from Quebec who got his invite from placing in 9th place at a Quebec Regional Qualifier. He has Paleozoic Frogs with him, another Deck that has proven itself as a reliable strategy. This is arguably the most important tournament of the year for most of the Duelists in attendance, and we’re ready to kick things off! It’s time to Duel!
