Top 16 Feature Match: Thai Bui vs. Jake Mattern

You may remember Jake Mattern from his Day 1 Deck Profile. He’s running a Prisma Gladiator Deck that easily Summons Gladiator Beast Gyzarus to destroy his opponent’s cards and take control of the Duel. Now, he made it to the Top 16 and is Dueling Thai Bui, a Lightsworn Duelist determined to bring his Lightsworn Deck to the Top 8. Top 32 Feature Match: Ivan Anamaria vs. Jerry Wang

More than 2100 Duelists arrived here yesterday to compete in the biggest SHONEN JUMP Championship of all time. Now, only 32 remain, including competitors like 3-time SHONEN JUMP Champion Jerry Wang. Today, Wang is playing a Quickdraw variant with Super-Nimble Mega Hamsters in his Main Deck.

His opponent is Ivan Anamaria, a veteran Duelist who made Day 2 in SHONEN JUMP Championship Columbus. Anamaria is running an aggressive Machina Gadget Deck with Solidarity, capable of generating some explosive OTKs. This one was anybody’s Match, and the winner would move on to the Top 16! All Top Duelists win a copy of Dark End Dragon, so the stakes couldn’t be higher! Read more…

Round 12 Feature Match: Patrick Clarey vs. Money Smith

Our Round 12 Feature Match pits Money Smith’s Six Samurai Deck against Patrick Clarey’s Dandysworns. The relentless aggression of Six Samurais and the 3 copies of Starlight Road in Smith’s Main Deck may make this a tough Match for Clarey, but he’ll be fighting his hardest to win this Match and stay in the tournament. “You’re running Samurais!” Clarey yelled as Smith walked to the Feature Match table. Round 11 Feature Match: Nik Ristoski vs. Luis Zambrana

With just 2 Rounds left in this tournament, the number of each Deck archetype in contention for Day 2 is narrowing. Nik Ristoski is one of the Blackwing Duelists still in the running, currently 8-2 with a teched out version packing Dark Eruption.

His opponent is Luis Zambrana, running an Elemental Hero Absolute Zero Deck. Zambrana is also 8-2, so whomever wins this Duel will have a chance to lock their seat in the Top 32 by winning their next Match in Round 12.
