Pairing: Top 4
Here are the Semifinal Pairing at YCS Charleston.
.
Charlie Finnegan from North Carolina finished the Swiss Rounds with an 8-2 record using his Artifact Tellarknight Deck that we featured in Round 10. Now, he must cast his Deck aside as he Duels against Logan Kite from Tennessee, who went 8-2 with his Burning Abyss Deck. Both Duelists are now using Decks that they drafted from packs of Battle Pack 3: Monster League. Which of these two YCS first-timers will advance to the Top 8 with his drafted Deck? We’re about to find out. It’s time to Duel!
Sohrab Pasikhani is the only Duelist to go undefeated throughout the 10 Swiss Rounds of the tournament. What’s most impressive, however, is the fact that he won all 10 rounds – including yesterday’s Round 7 Feature Match – with a Volcanic Deck. Few Duelists were expecting Volcanic Decks to be a powerful force in this weekend’s tournament, and Pasikhani proved all of those people doubting his Deck’s power wrong. Now, he has made it to the elimination rounds, and will be Dueling against Brian Guerrero and his Burning Abyss Deck in the Top 32. Will Pasikhani’s win streak continue? It’s time to Duel!
Welcome to the final round of Saturday’s Dragon Duel tournament! 10 young Duelists participated in today’s Dragon Duel tournament. Each of these 10 Duelists was given 9 packs of Battle Pack 3: Monster League and constructed a 40 cards Deck to use in this tournament. Now, 9-year-old Dawson Mcgaha from Greenville, South Carolina and 12-year-old Vincent Riccardi from Southport, North Carolina have made it to Table 1 in this final round of the Dragon Duel tournament! Mcgaha currently has 2 wins and a draw in today’s tournament, and Riccardi is undefeated. The winner here will secure a first place finish and a spot in the YCS Dragon Duel Championship on Sunday. It’s time to Duel!
With such a diverse format filled with so many powerful strategies, Duelists have had to come up with some pretty unique ways to give them an edge above the rest of the field. Let’s take a look at some of the strongest choices:
Now that we’ve had some more time to look around and see what’s successful, there is a ton of new stuff to talk about. Duelists have delved deep to find some of this sweet tech, but we’ll have to see what will make the cut for Top 32 and what will be forgotten:
This Top 32 Match pits two friends against eachother: Jonathon Nagel is a YCS veteran still looking for a win, playing a creative Burning Abyss Deck with tech like Edge Imp Sabres, Mathematician, Mask Change II, Rank-Up-Magic Astral Force, and even Mischief of the Gnomes in his Side Deck. Nagel is known for some pretty creative stuff, so this isn’t out of the ordinary by any means. His opponent, Jordan Gilbert, also has some cool tech such as Main Deck copies of Typhoon. For these two friends, it’s the ultimate test to see who the better Duelist is!
Nagel won the roll and chose to go first.

QQ stands for Quick Questions! The new Structure Deck: HERO’s Strike has lots of awesome Elemental HERO cards, both new and old. I surveyed the Duelists in attendance this weekend to see which card from Structure Deck: HERO’s Strike is their favorite. Check out their responses!
