If you’ve read the coverage from SHONEN JUMP Championship Edison, you may remember young Brandon Miotke winning a Dark End Dragon in the Dragon Duel Championship. Brandon is just one of several Duelists from the Miotke family, and now it was his father’s turn to be in the Feature Match spotlight! Gary Miotke is here in the Top 8, playing X-Sabers. Top 32 Feature Match: Chris Duff vs. Agustin Herrera

Chris Duff is running a Herald of Perfection Deck that plays Dawn of the Herald instead of Advanced Ritual Art. His opponent, Agustin Herrera, is running X-Sabers. This can be a tough Match for Duff if Herrera manages to discard his hand throughout the Match using X-Saber Airbellum and XX-Saber Gottoms, but an early Summon of Herald of Perfection or Archlord Kristya can mean victory for Duff. This Round 10 Feature Match pits Bobby Chambers’ Blackwing Deck against Luis Aldama’s Gladiator Beasts. This is typically a tough matchup for Gladiator Beasts, and Chambers’s 2 copies of Cards for Black Feathers will help him draw Royal Oppression to make things even harder. Update from Mexico: WCQ Swiss Rounds underway

The main event is underway at the World Championship Qualifier – Central America, in Guadalajara, Mexico.

A quick glance at the field shows that at least 30% of the Decks look to be X-Saber Decks. There are also a lot of Blackwing Decks and Machina Gadgets, plus Flamvell Cat, Frog Monarchs, TeleDAD, and Caliber Cat. Gladiator Beasts, Quickdraw Dandywarrior, Synchro Cat, Absolute Zero, and Macro Cosmos Decks are also popping up here and there. Read more…

Deck Profile: Grant Kelly’s Caliber Cat Deck

Grant Kelly finished 7-1 in yesterday’s Swiss Rounds, claiming victory in our Round 8 Feature Match over Carolyn Colajezzi’s X-Sabers.
