Points Playoff Finals: Jack Hoyt vs. Alex Vansant

Jack Hoyt and Alex Vansant last faced off in the Points Playoff Finals in San Jose. It was a close Match that eventually ended in a victory for Vansant in overtime. But Jack Hoyt is bringing his X-Saber Deck back for revenge, this time against Vansant’s Warrior Toolbox Deck. The winner here will receive a Super Rare set of Darklord Prize Cards.

Public Event Raffle Playoffs Finals: Zach Olmer Versus Rick Gratton

At every YCS, 4 Duelists are chosen by raffle out of all the Duelists who played in Public Events for a chance to win a Super Rare set of the Darklord Prize Cards. To claim them, they must win a 4-player single elimination tournament. In the finals, Zach Olmer was playing Dragons, while Rick Gratton was playing Quickdraw: the winner of this Match would walk away from this table with a set of the Darklord Prize Cards.  Neither Duelist was wasting time, and the Match started immediately!

The Finals: Thanh Nguyen Versus Kenny Kwan

Only 2 Duelists remained in this tournament: Thanh Nguyen with Plant Synchro, and Kenny Kwan with Quickdraw Dandywarrior.  Both of these Decks look similar at first glance, but when pitted head-to-head, the differences were sure to become apparent.  The winner here would claim an Ultra Rare set of Darklord Prize Cards, airfare and accommodations to the North American WCQ, a netbook laptop, and the title of Champion.  Nguyen won the toss and decided to go first.

Semifinals: James Neumann Versus Thanh Nguyen

Only 4 competitors remained in this tournament, and the winner of this Match was guaranteed to go home with a set of the Darklord Prize Cards!  The victor would also win their way to the Finals, where they’d Duel for a heap of prizes and the honor of being a YCS winner.  James Neumann was piloting X-Sabers, while his opponent Thanh Nguyen was running Plant Synchro.

Quarterfinals: Thomas Luebke VS Thanh Nguyen

Thomas Luebke and Thanh Nguyen have never topped a YCS before, but today, they’re going head to head in the Top 8! One of these Duelists will advance to the Top 4 with a great shot at winning a Set of Darklord Prize Cards, while the other one will be eliminated. Which Deck will win – Luebke’s Machina Gadgets or Nguyen’s Plants?

Quarterfinals: Kenny Kwan VS Guillermo Morales

Only 8 Duelists remained in this tournament, and after this Round only 4 would be left in contention!  Kenny Kwan hails from Queens, New York, and is here playing Quickdraw.  His opponent is Guillermo Morales, a Blackwing Duelist from New Jersey.  Both of these Duelists have been to Championship-level tournaments in the past, but this is their first time breaking into the Playoff Rounds.  Now, one of them would be headed to the Top 4.

Top 32 Feature Match: Christopher Evans vs. Mark Johnson

Christopher Evans made it to the Top 32 with his fast-paced Infernity Deck, while Mark Johnson made it there with his slow-paced Quickdraw Dandywarrior Deck. Johnson likes to draw cards to increase his options, while Evans likes to burn through them to give his strongest cards their effects. Which strategy will prevail?

Top 32 Feature Match: Christopher Miles VS Michael Jacobs

Both of these competitors are in the Top 32 with Decks that stand apart from the expected field.  While Michael Jacobs is playing the Flamvell Deck fondly nicknamed “Synchro Dog,” his opponent Christopher Miles is the lone Scrap Duelist left in the tournament.  With both Duelists eager to get to Dueling, the Match was off to a swift start.
