Marc Hahn’s Dimensional Fairy Deck Summons big monsters with ease! Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen allows him to Special Summon them from his hand, and cards like Miraculous Descent allow him to Special Summon Fairies that have been banished. These cards give Hahn’s Deck more power than most of the other Fairy Decks entered into this weekend’s tournament. Check out his list! Read more…
Four Decks remained in the tournament: Samurais, Infernities, Frog Monarchs, and Tengu Synchro. This Match would pit Tengu Synchro Duelist Tyree Tinsley against Frog Monarch Duelist Peter Nguyen. The victor in this Match would guarantee themselves a set of the Darklord prize cards, and would move on to the Finals to compete for the honor of a Championship title. The other Duelist would have to duke it out for Third Place to win a set of prize cards. Read more…

Brian Prange’s Counter Fairy Gladiator Deck has more control than a standard Gladiator Beast Deck, and is capable of more aggression than a typical Counter Fairy Deck. Prange’s Deck uses a full Gladiator Beast line-up, plus 3 copies of Bountiful Artemis for some extra draw power. His Deck takes the best from both worlds, as it’s able to Summon a Gladiator Beast Deck’s best monsters including Gladiator Beast Gyzarus, and able to draw him cards when he activates a Gladiator Beast Deck’s best Trap Card, Gladiator Beast War Chariot. Nathaniel Jadotte is one of several Six Samurai Duelists that made the Top 32, but Adam Moshinsky is the only Macro Cosmos Duelist to make the playoffs. We haven’t seen a Macro Cosmos Deck make the Top 32 of a YCS tournament in years! It’s a great fit for this tournament though, banishing key cards like Glow-Up Bulb, Dandylion, Spore, Gravekeeper’s Recruiter, and XX-Saber Darksoul. Read more…

We saw alot of different Decks make the Top 32 at this event, but one of the most surprising was Reinaldo Jose Lainez Diaz’s Infernity Deck. Successfully winning his first playoff Match of the day, he’s now made it to the Top 16, where he’ll face off against Anti-Monster Duelist Stephen Carella. These are the only Infernity and Anti-Monster Decks to make the Top 32 cut, so they represent their strategies’ last chance to continue on in the tournament. Read more…
Luke Mattingly made it to the Top 16 with his new Fairy Deck that runs Herald of Perfection along with the Agents from the Lost Sanctuary Structure Deck. Mattingly aims to pin down his opponents with his Herald to put his opponents in an impossible-to-win situation. His Top 16 opponent is YCS Champion Frazier Smith, who is running X-Sabers this weekend. If Mattingly can Summon Herald of Perfection quickly, he should be able to dominate each Duel and win the Match. Read more…

Four weeks ago, Juan Morales took second place at YCS Orlando, making it all the way to the Finals with Tengu Synchro. Four weeks later, Reborn Tengu is everywhere with countless variants, many focusing on the interaction between Genex Ally Birdman and Reborn Tengu. By bouncing Tengu back to the hand, you can Special Summon Birdman plus another Tengu from your Deck, instantly fielding the necessary Synchro Materials for Black Rose Dragon or Scrap Archfiend. From there, Duelists add all manner of accompaniments to flesh out their Decks. Morales played Gravekeeper’s Spies, Gravekeeper’s Descendant, Debris Dragons, and Junk Synchrons. Other Duelists add things like Tour Guide of the Underworld for better access to Sangan, Lonefire Blossom and accompanying Plant-Types for more speedy Synchro Summoning; and Chaos Sorcerers for their powerful banishing effect and high ATK. The past few weeks have seen tons of experimentation, with the result being a vast array of different Tengu Synchro strategies.
But Wilson Tsang’s Deck this weekend may be one of the most original. Read more…
