Round 8 Feature Match: T.S. Josh Graham vs. Astro Paul Levitin

June 18th, 2011

Josh Graham is undefeated with one of the top strategies here today: Tengu Synchro with Tour Guide from the Underworld. Tour Guide gets Sangan, Sangan gets Lonefire Blossom, and from there the Deck explodes. But his opponent is two-time YCS Champion Paul Levitin, armed with an Agent of Creation Hyperion Deck! Both of these strategies represent the cutting edge of Deck building in this tournament, but only one Duelist could emerge from this Match the victor. While Graham has a perfect 7-0 record so far, Levitin suffered a draw earlier in the tournament, and has a 6-0-1 record. A win here would be crucial. Read more…

Lundin will be aiming to defeat Guler-Carrasquillo before Guler-Carrasquillo can Summon Scrap Dragon. Once a Scrap Deck Summons Scrap Dragon, it becomes a difficult Match for the opponent to win. Round 5 Feature Match: Astro Marc Hahn vs. Botanist Willie Newsome

June 18th, 2011

Willie Newsome and Marc Hahn are both 4-0 in the tournament with vastly different strategies. Newsome is running a standard Plant Synchro Deck, but his opponent is running a planetary Deck that’s focused on Special Summoning big monsters with Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen and Miraculous Descent. Hahn may be able to overwhelm Newsome with his monsters if he can Summon Archlord Kristya, Master Hyperion, or Tethys, Goddess of Light early enough. Read more…
