It all comes down to this: two of the biggest Duelists in the game going head-to-head to become a YCS winner, a Championship title that neither has managed to capture up until this point. While Hoban was the 2013 North American Champion, both of these Duelists are hungry for their first taste of YCS gold. One of them was going home with a new Championship and an Ultra Rare Ascension Sky Dragon Championship Prize Card! Let’s find out who it would be.

This may be the last North American Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series event of 2012, but it’s also a weekend of firsts. This is the first weekend that Photon Shockwave is legal for tournament play, the first weekend that Rescue Rabbit Decks are making their tournament debut, and the first weekend that many of today’s competitors got a chance to compete in a YCS. Take a look at some of this weekend’s Duelists who are competing in their first ever YCS event! Read more…
Thanks from everyone to the terrific Judge Team we had at YCS Kansas City!
Without the time and effort that judges volunteer to help run these events – the events wouldn’t happen!
Be sure and thank your judge for helping everyone to have a good time, whether at a YCS or at your local store!
If you’re interested in volunteering as a Judge yourself, check out http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/judges/index.html
To finish out our ReallyQuickQuestions this weekend, we asked about something that happened before this weekend.

Sometimes an event has so much going on, we don’t have time for Quick Questions. So in the aftermath of this event, we had Really Quick Questions instead!
Before things got started, we asked a few Duelists some questions. Like:

At the close of every Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series event, 2 final prize cards are given away, one card each to the winner of 2 special 4-player mini-tournaments. One of the tournaments consists of 4 players randomly chosen from all the Duelists in attendance this weekend. The other is filled with 4 players from those who played in the Public Events throughout the weekend.
Those 8 Duelists duke it out in their 4-player tournaments for one last chance to go home with a prize card this weekend!
In this weekend’s Prize Card Playoffs:
In the Public Events Playoff, Carolyn Colajezzi from Philadelphia, piloting her Dino Rabbit Deck, defeated Billy Brake from Dallas Texas, playing his Synchro-heavy Deck.
In the Random Playoff, Tyler Woodall from Memphis used his Synchro-heavy Deck to defeat Saul Ruiz from Downers Grove, Illinois, who was running Dino Rabbits.
Courtney Waller piloted his Chaos Deck to victory over more than 600 other Duelists this weekend. Relying on the heavy-hitting power of Black Luster Soldier-Envoy of the Beginning, backed up with a suite of support cards like Maxx “C” and Tour Guide from the Underworld, Courtney has emerged as this weekend’s champion! Congratulations!
This is the last Match of the tournament. Courtney Waller made it here with his Chaos Deck, and now he’s going up against one of the most popular Decks in the tournament. If he hopes to become a YCS Champion, he’ll need to defeat Chris Biswell’s Synchro-heavy Deck in this final round. Both Duelists are just one Match away from a YCS victory! Read more…
