Final Standings: After Swiss
Here are the Final Standings after Swiss.
Welcome to Day 2 of the 150th YCS! This morning’s first Match features Eric Hodge Santos, a Yang Zing player utilizing some of the new support out of Crossed Souls. His opponent is Brain McBride from Illinois piloting Nekroz with tech choices so amazing that I don’t want to spoil them. Both of these players have two losses in the tournament so far, which means whoever is defeated this Match will most likely not be making the Top 32 cut. Tensions are high, and we’re bound to see a really exciting Match to kick off the rest of the day! McBride won the die roll and opted to go second.
The 150th YCS is packed full of exciting things, but a key awesome difference from other North American YCS has been the livestream coverage. The European YCS scene has adapted well to livestreaming but as far as North America goes this has been exclusive to the World Championship Qualifier, but the special celebration of the 150th YCS was enough reason for us to bring it here. As the event progresses more and more improvements are being made on site to the stream experience, showcasing both how adamant we are about giving a good viewer experience as well as that we know there ways to improve.

After its errata, Crush Card Virus has returned to the scene and is seeing a lot of play in any strategy that can manage to pay its cost. It can completely devastate a strategy that uses a lot of high ATK Monsters such as Nekroz or Qliphorts, but some Duelists have made adjustments in order to try to take advantage of the new text on Crush Card Virus, specifically the optional part of destroying Monsters from their Deck. So how they’re taking advantage of this?
