The first day’s Dragon Duel comes to a close. The Peruvian Dragon Duelers did very well, with the 1st place going to 12-year-old Sebastian Rios (far left) who has been playing for a year. He was playing a Macro-Rabbit Deck and hails from Lima, Peru. He usually plays at Battle City, the OTS of our Assistant Head Judge (Alex Medina) of the Main Event today. Beside him is Lucas Ortiz, who came in second. This 12-year-old has also been playing for a year, and usually plays at Guild Dreams, the OTS in Santiago. He came with his Junk Synchron Deck. Beside him is Christian Venegas, another 12-year-old from Lima, Peru. His home store? You guessed it, Battle City! He came in third with his Chaos Dragon Deck. Last not least is Gustavo Alfaro, who has been playing for 2 years. His home store is Woo, an OTS from Santiago. This 12-year-old was playing a Geargia Karakuri Deck. Congrats to all!

Dragon Duel Day 1

February 23rd, 2013

Not quite as international a flavor as the Main Event, but again, thanks to the vacation, we have players from Peru and Brazil, in addition to the 14 Chilean up-and-coming Duelists! It strikes me again and again what a wonderful game Yu-Gi-Oh! is, allowing people from different countries to communicate with each other through their shared language of Yu-Gi-Oh!

We’ve got 17 Duelists total, and talk about Deck diversity! There’s two Six Samurai and two Chaos Dragons, but otherwise, they’re all different Decks! A Junk Synchron Deck, a Dragon-Exodia Deck, Blackwings, Meklords, Fire Fists, Fire Kings, Machina-Gadget and more!!

Good luck to you all!
