Congratulations to this weekend’s Dragon Duel Playoffs Winner, Zachary Ruben for defeating the Saturday Dragon Duel Winner to become the YCS Philadelphia Dragon Duel Champion!
After two days of Dueling here are the Final Standings for YSC Philadelphia!
Here are your YCS Philadelphia Champions!
1st Place Christopher Jordan LeBlanc
2nd Place Nicholas Hayes Blandin
3rd Place Corey Ryan Roca
4th Place Bernardo Miranda
Congratulations to Chris LeBlanc from Boston Massachusetts for defeating 1410 to earn his second YCS win here at YCS Philadelphia, PA.
This was it! Chris LeBlanc was gunning for his second YCS win, while Nicholas Blandin was now in the Finals off his first-ever YCS Top 32. Both of these competitors know eachother well, since they compete at the same local tournament on a week to week basis. The stakes were as high as they can be, but both competitors seemed pretty jazzed just to be competing amongst friends.
Chris LeBlanc is the youngest YCS winner of all time, and now he was poised within striking distance of his second Championship! Two more wins was all he’d need to join a distinguished few, but standing in his way was repeated YCS Top Cut duelist Bernardo Miranda! Two more Matches would decide who was going home a Champion, but right here and right now, this Match would award the winner a copy of Number 106: Giant Hand!
We are down to the Top 4 Duelist, here are the pairings for the Top 4.
New York’s Christopher Woolheater finished the Swiss Rounds with a 9-2 record using Mermails. Now he’s paired up against Delaware’s Corey Roca in this Top 8 Feature Match! Roca ended the Swiss Rounds with a 9-2 record using his Evilswarm Deck. Although Evilswarm Decks generally have a strong matchup against Mermail Decks, that won’t be relevant in this Top 8 Match – both Duelists built Decks out of the cards drafted from Battle Pack 2: War of the Giants to use in this Match. Which Duelist has the better Deck and the superior skill? We’re about to find out! It’s time to Duel!
Jonathan Aguero is now just three wins away from matching his brother, Hansel Aguero’s Championship win. Coming off a 2-0 blowout in his Top 16 Feature Match, could he keep that momentum? His opponent this Round was Nicholas Blandin, and spoiler: this Feature Match involves a whole ‘lotta Horn of the Unicorn!
