Welcome to Round 6! Kevin Lu, from Ottowa, Ontario, is packing a 60-card Deck that mixes Zoodiacs and True Draco cards, along with a suite of Plant cards including Lonefire Blossom, Baobaboon, and the new Predaplants from Maximum Crisis. He’s up against Tej Trivedi, from Ridgewood, NJ, also using a True Draco Zoodiac Deck. Although their overall strategy is the same, their Decks are very different in content and number of cards.

It’s the final round of Saturday’s Dragon Duel tournament, and we have two undefeated Duelists. Only one can stay that way, though! We’ve got Jack Leiher, from Xenia, Ohio, and Justus Long from… also Xenia? It turns out these Duelists know each other, and traveled here together with two other friends! Their goal was for the four of them to make the Top 4 today, and it looks like these two have cemented their places in the Top 4 already.

Jermaine Leach is here from Philadelphia, and he’s packing an awesome Cyber Dragon strategy! He makes use of That Grass Looks Greener to fill his Graveyard with Cyber Dragon Core, Jinzo, Jinzo – Returner, and other Machines for Overload Fusion. He’s using Interrupted Kaiju Slumber and some Kaiju monsters as well, and most of his cards can play off the fact that Jizukiru, the Star Destroying Kaiju is a LIGHT Machine. His opponent is Christopher Rodriguez, who recently made the top cut of YCS Denver in his home town! He’s using a Zoodiac Deck, but with some toadally awesome tech choices: Tin Goldfish and Mother Grizzly! Those two, along with Elder Entity Norden, give him access to Bahamut Shark and Toadally Awesome! Mother Grizzly is also a Beast-Warrior, so it’s searchable with Fire Formation – Tenki and Zoodiac Broadbull!

We start off this weekend with a Feature Match showcasing some of the new cards from Maximum Crisis. Adam Ventura from Indianapolis, Indiana is using an enhanced Zefra Deck featuring the brand new Zefraath, Zefra Providence, and Zefra War from Maximum Crisis. His opponent, Eric Kearsh from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has the home-field advantage with his Metalfoes Yang Zing Deck. Metalfoes variants were competitive prior to the release of Maximum Crisis, whereas Zefra Decks weren’t on any competitive Duelist’s radar. Is the new suite of Zefra cards from Maximum Crisis just what Zefra Duelists needed to break through on the competitive tournament scene? We’re about to find out. It’s time to Duel!

Welcome to Round 1 of YCS Pittsburgh! We’re starting things off with one of the biggest new strategies, a mix of the True Kings from Maximum Crisis and the new Dinosaurs from the Dinosmasher’s Fury Structure Deck. It’s being piloted by Patrick O’Leary, a Duelist who made the trip from Michigan. His opponent is Matthew Faccenda, from here in Pennsylvania, using another strategy that has been powered up recently: Buster Blader! Using cards like Wizard Buster Destruction Sword, he could shut down his opponent’s strategy. Buster Blader gains strength when facing Dragons, but now he’s up against Wyrms and Dinosaurs. Who will prevail?
