Round 7 Feature Match: Conrad Selig vs. Sonny Perrini

Conrad Selig is here from Ft. Wayne, IN, and he’s brought a Danger! Lunalight Deck! The Lunalight strategy can make some very impressive boards with Link, Xyz, and Fusion monsters, and he uses Danger! cards to bolster the strategy. His opponent is Sonny Perrini from Columbus, OH, packing a Thunder Dragon Deck. The effect of Thunder Dragon Colossus could give him an edge in this Match, and Selig will need to find ways to play around it.

Round 6 Feature Match: Akeem Abrahim vs. Chester Henson

Akeem Abrahim and Chester Henson are both currently 5-0 in YCS Chicago. Abrahim is using a Trickstar Deck that includes 3 copies of Trickstar Corobane plus 3 copies of Pot of Extravagance from Savage Strike, while Henson is using a Subterror Deck that is capable of dominating a Duel with the new Savage Strike Subterror monster, Subterror Guru. Henson is an experienced Duelist and the winner of the 2017 North America World Championship Qualifier, so his decision to use a lightly-represented Subterror Deck in the tournament should speak to how powerful he believes the Deck can be. Round 5 Feature Match: Jerry Borbon vs. Benjamin Deeter

We’re at the halfway point of Day 1 here at YCS Chicago! We have a New York Duelist, Jerry Borbon, playing a Noble Knight Deck! Although we’ve seen Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights in many strategies, it’s at its best in a dedicated Noble Knight build! He’s up against Benjamin Deeter from Iowa, using True Draco! The True Draco strategy typically plays a lot of floodgate cards that could make things rough for the Noble Knights but may have trouble if Borbon gets going too quickly. Read on to see how it goes!

Round 4 Feature Match: Semorris Powell vs. Isaac Sarver

February 2nd, 2019

Semorris Powell from Indianapolis, Indiana is currently 2-0-1 with his Photon Galaxy Deck. Now, he’s Dueling against Isaac Sarver from Houston, Ohio who is 2-0-1 with his Prank-Kids Thunder Dragon Deck. Powell’s Galaxy Photon Deck is one of the coolest Decks in the tournament this weekend; but Sarver’s Prank-Kids Thunder Dragon Deck is explosive and capable of incredible plays. Only one of these Duelists can win the Round 4 Feature Match. It’s time to Duel!

Round 3 Feature Match: Cameron Neal vs. Amos Mihulet

We’ve got VIP Duelist Cameron Neal for this round’s Feature Match! This Dallas Duelist is using a Danger! Thunder Dragon Deck, comprised of only monsters except for three copies of Sekka’s Light. The strategy is a popular one here at YCS Chicago, since it’s capable of making some huge plays with many Special Summons. The VIP Duelists earned two free byes into the tournament, but now it’s time for Neal to start competing. His opponent is Amos Mihulet from here in Chicago. Mihulet’s packing a Vampire Deck, which has many ways of controlling the field and utilizes a plethora of Zombie support and can make some awesome Xyz plays.

Welcome to Round 1 of YCS Chicago! We’re braving the freezing temperatures to bring you hot Dueling action! We’ve got Kansas City Duelist Jesse Choate here with a Danger! Deck, but not your typical one. This one takes a different… turn, if you will. He’s up against Michael Rodriguez from Bayonne, New Jersey. He’s playing a Subterror control Deck using the new Subterror Guru! This strategy focuses on abusing Guru’s effect repeatedly to completely shut the opponent down in tandem with Subterror Fiendess and Subterror Final Battle.

Round 1 Feature Match: Ty Reading vs. Neil Henning

Ty Reading from Fairview Heights, Illinois is Dueling against Neil Henning from Kalamazoo, Michigan in our Round 1 Feature Match! Reading is using a “Train” Deck, enhanced by the newly released Legendary Duelists: Sisters of the Rose booster set. Reading’s Deck includes 3 copies each of Super Express Bullet Train, Flying Pegasus Railroad Stampede, and Urgent Schedule, as well as 2 copies of Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Juggernaut Liebe in the Extra Deck, all from Legendary Duelists: Sisters of the Rose. Reading is also using a small Shaddoll engine consisting of 2 copies of Shaddoll Beast, 1 copy of Shaddoll Dragon, and 3 copies of Shaddoll Fusion so that he can Fusion Summon the Level 10 El Shaddoll Shekhinaga from his Extra Deck. Henning is using a Zombie Deck packed with cards from Structure Deck: Zombie Horde. It’s time to Duel!
