Joe Claudio is a VIP Duelist this weekend because he won a VIP Qualifier at his local store, The Batcave in Conway, Arkansas. Now, he’s here in YCS Knoxville with a 2-Round Bye! He won the VIP Qualifier with a Danger! Thunder Dragon Deck in May, and now he’s back with the same Deck this weekend, hoping to repeat his success. Welcome to Round 2! We’re at Table 257 for this Round as we came across a Deck that has a little of everything! Travis Tackett from right here in Knoxville with a Deck that Orcust, Trickstars and Sky Strikers and Neo-Spacians that combo to Link Summon Galatea, the Orcust Automaton and Xyz Summon Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star. His opponent is Becker Phathanak from Nashville, Tennessee and he has Sky Strikers with him. Sky Striker Ace – Kagari being Limited in the latest Forbidden and Limited List change has forced Sky Striker Duelists to rethink strategies but Becker is one of the Duelists in attendance that have stuck with the Deck. Welcome to YCS Knoxville! This is the first YCS in North America since the release of The Infinity Chasers, Structure Deck: Order of the Spellcasters, Duel Power, Dark Neostorm, and a Forbidden and Limited List update! There’s a lot of new strategies coming into the mix and old strategies getting some new life! One of those is Dark Magicians, a long-time fan favorite strategy that got support from Duel Power. Cramdial Gerald Rogers has Dark Magician today and his first round opponent is Robert Kenny III with a sixty-card Deck including Danger!, Orcust and combination of other strategies. Local Duelist Miciah Umstead from Knoxville, Tennessee is piloting a Witchcrafter Deck packed with cards from The Infinity Chasers. Witchcrafters are a cool theme of Spellcaster-Type monsters that can Special Summon each other from the Deck while the theme-specific Spell Cards return from the Graveyard to be reused. Umstead’s opponent, Romello Wilson from St. Paul, Minnesota, is using a Sky Striker Deck that includes 3 copies of Mystic Mine from Dark Neostorm.
